: Prairie City Planning meeting tonight...
Glenn 10-01-2002, 11:32 AM Wanna get involved in helping out with major improvements in the 4WD area at Prairie City??? Several of us have already had a couple meetings to try and get some ideas going on what we would like to see out there to improve the 4WD areas. POST UP if you're interested in attending tonights meeting... Don't miss out on a great opportunity to get fully involved in something that will benefit all the 4WD community, from SUV's to 'Fully Gettin-it' Rockcrawlers... :D
7:00 PM at Roundtable Pizza, next to the new Ace Hardware store in Orangevale, just east of Main Ave on Madison...
Imkunfused 10-01-2002, 12:40 PM Glenn.. wish i could make it, but i have class tonight.. Keep me posted on what is taking place
SMART ASS 10-01-2002, 01:10 PM I'll B THERE! :flipoff2:
Glenn 10-01-2002, 03:15 PM Comeawn... Don't ya wanna have a say in how they spend some of that 38 million:eek: dollars they have earmarked for Prairie City improvements??? Of all the suggestions so far, the only one they scoffed at was Big Rich's 'Snowmaking equipment'. Pretty much everything else is on the table. They also say they have unlimited water supply with their own wells already in place. That could be interesting. This is a great opportunity to turn Prairie City into a major 4WD destination instead of the (yawn) boring place it is now. Come to the meeting and see what's going on... cheers
500 HORS 10-01-2002, 05:00 PM see ya in a few hours; also for all you "to busy" folks, post a reply of a couple mandatory items you'd like to see at PCOHV over the next 5 years.

Amen -- here's an opportunity to plan a playground specifically for 'wheelers.
This is a chance to do something positive for our hobby, instead of all the negatives (bitching about others, whining about decreased access, belly-aching about the greenies, etc.) -- we have the opportunity to create NEW TRAILS on land that is not currently being used... with dollars that are reserved for this purpose, all with the blessing and even assistance of state government.
If you can't make it to a planning meeting (and there are at least a hundred frequent-posters on POR4x4 I can think of who live less than an hour from where the meetings are being held, please, at the very least, post up suggestions on what you'd like to see.
This reminds me of people who belly-ache about their politicians but can't be bothered to vote.

Doh! The meeting was LAST NIGHT:eek:. Next one is Oct 15 but the Pizza place is booked that night so we're tentatively gonna meet at Bonner's house or mine (I live next door to him).
We've kinda broken it down into sections A, B, C, D & E with Section A being the current 4WD area where the rocks and stuff are now. Next meeting we will discuss what we would like to see upgraded/changed/added in that section, as well as the possibility of a perimeter road around the entire 4WD area, along with water mains along that same road. Ya wanna see what the other sections are?? Come to the meeting. We can always use more input. We're also hoping to get one of their (P-city) guys to come to our meetings or we will go to theirs, so we can see if in fact, we are on the same page
They want something, in writing, as soon as possible so they can get something going. Probably gonna take at least a few more meetings by us before we're gonna be ready to give em something like that. You wanna be a part of this?? Email me or just come to the meetings.
Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month, at Roundtable Pizza in Orangevale, next to Les Schwab. With the exception of this next one, which will be at Bonner's place. Email me for directions... :D

Actually... if you have trails, etc. it would be a good idea to have a trail that criss crosses or very closely parallels the road with escape routes.
I case things go bad, it makes it real easy to get a trailer within 100 yards of a broken rig to have it towed out. Instead of tieing up a trail for hours on end, etc.
Just a thought.

I think we can arrange closely parallels, and we've already talked about staying within wrecker's reach of a good roadbed... but your point is well taken, we need trails AND good access points to those trails. Good call!
Keep up the great suggestions!

whitetoy 10-03-2002, 07:32 AM I would like to see a better airing-up station, closer to the 4wd area.
Also a place specifically set up for hosing off mud before heading home, with at least 2 water spigots.
