Putting together a tera 50 with 5 on 5.5 circle. Using a 70's model chevy caliper, but having trouble finding a rotor that will work. Anyone have hints?

Thanks,

Mark

Mid 80s F150 rotors fit my Chev calipers perfect.

What knuckles/spindles are you using ?

It uses knuckles that I assume are made by tera. They are similar to late model 50/60. Uses a unit bearing. The axle came with a plate cut for the chevy calipers, but I'm having trouble finding a rotor with a hat shallow enough to get clearance between the inner face of the rotor and the caliper bracket. Overall height of the rotor needs to be about 1.875". Late model 1/2 ton dodge is close, but still doesn't allow room enough between the rotor and the caliper bracket for the brake pad to fit. The setup is made for a rotor that slides over the studs from the outside.

Yes, I searched.

what about a rotor from a new dodge ram?

Read above post... I just said late model 1/2 ton dodge is close , but won't work.

Tera is telling me to run a CJ rotor, so I ordered some, but see no way they'll be right. For one, they're about half the width in the rotor they should be to work right with a chevy caliper. Secondly, they are made to go on the back side of a wheel hub and not to be slide-ons, thereby being machined true on the wrong side of the hat for this application.

It's not that it's a problem that can't be solved with some machining, but it sorta pi$$es me off that a company as well-known as Tera would sell something without it being fully worked out.
