I travel all over Michigan, but that's a little out of my range, besides, a bridgeport sounds heavy and I'm just a little guy. If it was on the other side of the state I'd be glad to help you out.

For those that might be close and not know it, here's a map (the red star is Galien, MI)

If you can't find anyone closer I might be able to help, I've got a buddy over that way that I wouldn't mind visiting, but it would be easier if you could find someone closer.

here is what i need done.

the bridgebort and the 16" bandsaw need to be put on a pallet and strapped down.

the company where it is at has a fork lift that you can use to load it on a truck.

my best guess is that it will not take more than 3 hours and i will pay $300 bucks.

I live about 2 hours from there, I could try to do it. When does it need to be done by? Does it have to be done during business hours?

i will find out.

get on the yellow pages and find some riggers. That is what they do, and they will probably charge you less than $300, and they have insurance. Most of the riggers here are desperate for work right now. We are paying about $1000 to have riggers move 2 CNC lathes a laser cutter laser welder hardinge lathe and bridgeport mill and a bunch of other lab equiptment. This is moving it about 10 miles on their truck.

so far i was only able to locate a rigger that is 4 hours away and they wanted 1200 bucks in drive time. :eek: i am still looking

if nothing else can somebody get me the name of a close by machinery mover or rigger?

Did you search the South Bend Indiana Yellow Pages? It is probably the closest large city to Buchanan. Or try Niles Michigan it seems like you should find someone that could do the work that you need. I grew up about 15 miles from Buchanan in the Benton Harbor/St. Joseph area which might have someone also.

not anything special. i just always wanted a mill and i got a good deal on this. i figured if i had to find a way to get it home i might as well make it worth my while and buy the saw as well. :D now i just need a sweet lathe and i am set.

ya i have found some takes with the laser. but i am still workin on the contract to get enuff work lined up for it before i buy one. at this point i am probally gonna sub contract the work out. but ya never know. i might still happen. :D


as for foxtails...you got the job. i will send ya some glitter, just go in there and don't leave until all the girls have bought glitter from you. :flipoff2: sometimes they are a little dimwitted and you need to show them the correct way to apply glitter to thier body so it does not come off. think ya can handle that?
