Who would be interested in a Fordyce Cleanup before thanksgiving? I noticed a bit of trash on the trail from Meadow to squeeze rock (river crossing). Maybe we can get two groups working their way in from either end of the trail.

Does anybody know who the governing bodies would be to coordinate this effort and have dumpsters available at either end of the trail?

I am thinking second or third weekend in Nov before the snow. I am not sure when the top gets snow historically.

I could possibly be down for a fordyce clean up. Maybe a local club should head it up like barret and rubicon. Post what days. Maybe a club will step up......like some pornstarz or benders

I'd call the office in nevada city or the one in truckee and ask about how to dispose of trash from a cleanup. I doubt they would get a dumpster to meadow, but you could ask for permission dropping off trash bags at Jackson meadows or one of the other camp areas along the way. Get approval in writing and bring it with you so you don't get any flak from a camp host or ranger when you show up with bags of trash.

Settle down fawkers. I really would like to bust out a cleanup before serious snow. Maybe some NAXJA folks would be interested. Either way, if we can get about 10 rigs working in from either end of the trail, we can get a bunch of trash out of there. I didn't see any erosion issues or needs to block off bypasses on the top of the trail, not sure about the bottom.

And yes, Andy was giving me shit. I am sick of him throwing beer cans out the window just to see my tree-hugging self fetch them for the garbage :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I'm bringing it in for the 'Con cleanup as well. Are you silly fawkers still coming in from the Tahoe side with me? Or are we headed in from Loon?

Only thing that worries me in November is the nipply factor, it could be downright cold! I'm also wondering what the releases will be like that time of year, should be OK, but you never know!

Four Dice 4wheel Drive Club Cleanup of Fordyce Trail
Tentatively scheduled for early November. Exact date to be posted very soon, after contacting the forestry service.

We had this planned for next year but since there is some interest in a club stepping to the plate this year, lets do it. We met last night to discuss it and are taking the actions to arrange it.

Let us know who is interested and we'll be back soon with the firm date.

I am still in. Will have to be a day trip I am sure in November due to cold weather. But I am still in

its gonna be cold, but lets get it. i'm in :D

The date is set.

Water levels will be low with 25-50cfs.
We may also have some signs to put up. This depends if the forestry service is ready or not. I will coordinate all that.

We will be back with the meeting place(s) and times and we are busy trying to coordinate a raffle so stay tuned.

Go on vacation for a week and look what happens! Nov 2 works for me. I am glad that we can get this rolling so quickly. I don't know how we go about making a sticky post but we should start another thread for this. Since it is your club that picked the date, i'll let you do the honors. I should be able to get about 6 rigs together for this run.
