Can I convert the drums to disk on a 75 d44 3/4 ton closed knuckle? What is diff. between it and a open knuckle d44 other than the obvious.

TIA
Chris

It isn't worth the effort.
You'll have to have almost everything custom made. In the end you'll still have the same weak D44 that you started with. You will be able to stop quicker!
Boy that would be nice!

What's the difference? Everything! That's obvious...

you can use chevy 3/4 disc brakes stuff

hub/rotor
spindle
caliper brackets
calipers
the outer axle shaft may fit your inner shaft or have a bushing made to fit the spindle and your outer shaft
everything else bolts on

3/4T Chevy parts TTBOMK do not bolt on to the closed knuckle and clear the knuckle. I've got all the parts... Open knuckle absolutely! If you've done it on a closed knuckle I'd love to see pictures.
You still have the small joint D44 though, so still not worth the $$$ IMHO...

I agree that the open knuckle is a better front end but they are hard to find and kind of pricey that is also all I run, however the chevy stuff does fit the small closed knuckle I have seen it done
on a 73 ford truck didn't get pictures it done about 10 years ago no computer or digital camera or internet at that time so I didn't get pictures
but if I get time I will go to the wrecking yard and see what I can throw together just for you it may pose a problem on the large closed knuckle I am not sure

Don't go out of your way...
As I said, I have all of the parts and based on eyeball only I made my statement, ok that and I've never seen it done even back in my Willys/jeep dayz.
When I rip out the closed Knkl I'll match up the parts!

Thanks.
Chris
