A guy I know.

Hooked to a T18 and D300...

I think he should look at a different motor but hell I'm just a Toyota guy...

3.8L Buick Turbo??

If you check you may find out the International did it too...

Works well with the correct gears, my buddy has one that will climb just about anything!

The 258 was probably the original configuration for that Scout. :rolleyes:

IH used the AMC straight six's in the Scouts, 258 in SII's, some of the earlier ones had the 232. It's got good torque, and does fairly well in most of the Scouts I've seen with it. I've always wanted to toy with the idea of getting a Scout with that setup and installing a later model fuel injected 4.0, which should be pretty direct swap, for a daily-driver, economical rig around town.
