I run 39.5x15x15 TSL's on 15x8" wheels. I love it. I actually prefer it over 10" wheels.

Off road it isn't a problem...or at slow speeds
Now I hate to throw a monkey wrench into this thread, but here goes.....
All manufacturers have a recommended rim width for a reason!!
Wether it be the way the bead seats....or the stress put on the bead from being pulled in that far.....or the possibility of the "bead lock" built into the rim not seating onto the inside of the tire bead....they do recommend width for one reason or another.
Have I run wide tires on narrow rims???.....Sure I have!
It's your $$$$$ spend it the way you want.....but don't expect a tire mfg to warranty a bead thats torn from inside.
I have seen bead stress cracks on Swampers from running on too narrow a rim, and they DO know how to tell!!
One more problem is at road pressure they tend to wear the center tread way before the outer tread even touches the pavement.
Sorry

Nope.
A buddy of mine runs those tires on 8's and they work fine.

Thanks for the info on the bead thing 1BDYJ, I never really looked at it like that. I probobly am just going to get 42s and new rims at the same time. The new toyota prodject is lookin' punny on 36s and the truck has cleared 39.5s no problem. So, with a little cutting I can make them work, I think:).
Thanks
