: chevy outers on a hp d44

have a 79 hp 44, and want to run the chevy outers so i can stay 6 lug, just wondering if anyone has done this or knows of someone who has? pics would be nice

Seriously? For post #1? Brace yourself. And search. If you're too cheap for a red star I heard about some sort of a search engine that searches the web for you......hmmmm.........

Well dude think about it. If you have the ford parts and the chevy parts together look at them...

The differences might be,
1.The number of studs holding the spindle to the knuckle
2.The size of the joints on the axle shafts...

If the studs are the same then just bolt the outter chevy spindle and hub on it..

Use the Ford housing and inner shafts. Use the chevy stubshafts, knuckles and all the other outers. It is really easy, I helped a friend do the same thing last week. A chevy flat top knuckle can be used for crossover steering too.

It is super easy. All bolt on parts. Make sure you torque the balljoints in the right sequence. You will need a 4 prong upper nut adjuster socket.

X2 Irun this set up.79 ford HP out of a F250, had the 8lug dualpiston brakes,bought a 73 chev. 44 1/2 ton axle, swaped everything knuckle out + outer stub shafts.The Ford axle used slugs and I saved them for back ups.Wanted to run slectable hubs.
