: Which T-case Cradle?
HiRider 01-01-2010, 08:44 AM I just bought a new Petroworks GSII T-case and I want to add a heavy duty mounting cradle when I install it. I checked out the "Might Kong" by Trail Tough and Calmini or SpiderTrax has a good one too. What are you guys using? Is one better than the others? Is there any installing issues with any of them? Just need a little first hand advise!
1987Zucchini 01-01-2010, 08:51 AM MIGHTY KONG...simple amd strong also the incorporated skid plate is niiiice!! I also got the Trail Gear billet blocks to replace the rubber bushings, and gusseted the factory mounts on the frame...I have 6.4 t-case gears...everything has held up nice, no problems through 2 seasons.
sami-stine 01-01-2010, 09:13 AM take the mighty kong, and build off of it. these cases like to lift to the passenger side. the kong won"t address this. there are a few threads around right now. so search my posts....you'll find picks fo what i did and what the OP is doing. if you can address the lift issues the kkong will be sweet. rock 4x fab has a spin like is used by the toy guys. that with the knog would be sweet as well.

MULISHA JP 01-01-2010, 09:50 AM X2 on the Snatch. It is beefy!
tanzuki 01-01-2010, 10:56 AM I recommend the Forrest style bucket that you can get from Rock4x. In addition to the stock mounting it ties in the rear out put for an additional mount. I also like that it has angled edges so it'll have less of a chance to get hung up on obstacles.

I just built my own but The DIY kit is quite reasonable.
lude92 01-01-2010, 11:12 AM as you can see, their are all kinds of opinions. i run the mighty kong with trail tough solid mounts. i love this set up, but i have a friend who just bought the snatch from zor, & i would love to have one of theirs. all these are good, so just pick one and go with it.:D
1madzuk 01-01-2010, 04:10 PM I run the Kong from Trail Tough. On all 3 of my Zuks. On one I've incorpirated the Rock-X-4 Spine into it. Made it super strong. But if I was gonna buy a nother bucket I would spend it on the ZOR Snatch. What a piece of work. And the price is even better. Cal-mini is over priced. And took several people to get the t-case to fit.
durnzuki 01-01-2010, 04:36 PM My vote is for the Snatch from ZOR. I had the mighty kong and broke a T-case and got a snatch and havn't had any trouble since.
freeriders98 01-01-2010, 08:46 PM Slutty Snatch from ZOR. I have it and have loved it.
murphbug 01-01-2010, 10:04 PM love my snatch also! will be putting one on the other one im building also.

HiRider 01-09-2010, 04:39 AM Got a call yesterday from Debbie at ZOR. She said the snatch is back from powder coat and it would out the door the same day!! Takes about a week to get to WI so I should have everything ready to go before it gets here! I was out on the ice today doing some wheeling and I still have the stock T-case. I can't wait until the new Petroworks case and the snatch are in!
Keep-on -wheelin! :smokin:

geckocycles 01-09-2010, 06:24 AM Cool, it is a good one.
I personally like to keep the skid part separate from what I am protecting so I went with Spidertrax and being I have a Spidertrax antiwrap kit too I made a skid that bolts to it and the front cross member out of scrap 1/4" plate.
I do like the ideas of having multiple case mounts too but I have yet to split a case yet with my 5.12 and 3.73 on 31's.

skipholiday 01-09-2010, 07:15 AM We run the spine (rock4x4) reinforced to beefed up stock arms.
this setup has worked perfect with 6.1 t-case and 4.56 diff gears,
Other rig has the kong and grips. The grips are problematic, they tend to twist and rub the rotor on the driveline brake.
HiRider 01-10-2010, 07:31 AM I like the skid! Looks great. Nice simple design. I was considering the full frame style. I'm not a big fabricater so a bolt on would be better for me. Thanks
HiRider 01-20-2010, 06:38 AM Update on the new ZOR T-case mount. I now have the snatch mount installed and I would say it was a simple install but the mounting of the T-case to the snatch was a bit tricky.[I now call it "the Bitch"] I had trouble getting all the bolt holes to line up and the case actually got suck on the mount on my first attempt!! Took me about two hours to get it on there and I had to grind all the powder coat off the mounting surfaces and I had to enlarge all the bolt holes as well. I ordered the additional weld-in brace [panty liner] for the frame also. Then installed the completed case and new ZOR snatch. This was very easy to install without the shifter on the case. I made a tool to reinstall the shifter spring and retainer because I have a 3" body lift and I had trouble getting my hand in there! And, I add a new brass shift sheet as well! Big thumbs up to the guys at ZOR. They have some great products! I was also installing a new Petroworks 4.89:1 T-case and what a difference this made. I was wheeling both days last weekend and it is like driving a new truck!! Thanks for the all good advice!!
Keep-on-wheelin!!! :smokin:
