I need some help guys, I just bought an 89 chevy truck with a 5 speed manual tranny in it. The tranny had a bearing out because someone had let a seal go bad and the fluid leaked out til the bearing burnt up. I need to know what kind of fluid these trannies run. Is it 90W or is it ATF or what? Thanks a lot for the help.

Pretty sure it is a special GM fluid - Synchro-mesh. Call your dealer to confirm this. I put tranny fluid in mine and it shifts like crap.
