i went to the one warehouse I know in burbank and they had 3x3 3/16 but that won't cover up the marks from my old YJ steps. Should i just get some 3/16" sheet bent the way I want? How much is it to bend? $50?

4"x3" is a non-standard size.

Try asking them for 5"x3"

3x3 is the largest size angle I can find in my books in 3/16 thickness. Your best bet is to have it sheared and formed in a brake.

taso,
The place to go is Industrial Metal Supply on San Fernando Rd. in Burbank. It's a block south of Hollywood Way. If they don't have it, nobody does. All my fabbing projects start right there.

You can always take 5x5 and trim one side.

I'm sure it's available in almost any size you could want if you look hard enough, but why not go with 1/4" thickness. Lots easier to find in a wider variety of sizes. Stronger too. I had some 5x3 cut down to 5x2 for my rockers.
