How well would an m38 tub work on my 75 CJ5 frame. I would like to keep the cj hood as well.

Thanks

Josh

M38 or M38A1? An M38 is a flat fender tub that would work on a pre '72 frame, and could be made to work on the later frame, but the CJ hood would never work, I assume you're talking about an M38A1, basically a military CJ5, and that tub should work on your frame, although you may have to move some body mounts, the M38 frame was the same as the early CJ-5's, but '75 should have been wider in the rear. The M38A1 would have had the short nose front clip, but your post '72 AMC long front clip will botl right up. The M38A1 tub should have lots of cool little brackets and military gizmos as an added bonus. Military Jeep stuff is cool.

If it is the flat fender one it would look kind of like this. It is a '79 CJ-5 frame (longer nose) with a '46 body. The grill has been pushed out for the V8 motor. There is still about 4" under hang on the back. We built a sub frame under the body so the mounts would line up to the frame. The body mounts were shot anyways.
