Is there any place that carries new replacement D44 shafts (rear)? Drivetrain Warehouse is telling me that no one has made them for 5 years. Is the junk yard the only source?

Thanks

I have two rear axle shafts from a scout II D44 (actually three but, I got to keep my spare.) Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks guys, thats a little much.
Around here I can get complete D44 axles for $75 (thats whats going in my CJ) but they want $50 for just the pair of shafts. Just wanted to pick up some spares and was hoping for some cheap mail order. Guess I'm sticking with the junk yards!

Just found this thread using the search function. Im looking for the length of scout 44 rear axles. Im looking for somewhere in the neighborhood of 26.8. This particular measurement is from wheel mounting surface (really drum mounting surface) to the end of the splines. I think it can be slightly longer so if any scout 44's are close let me know.

Basically Im looking for a stock replacemtn / junkyard replacement for my application

thanks

What is your application? Was it originally a Scout axle?

The guy who cut my housing down did it wrong so it ended up 1 1/2 inches longer. It was free so not to big of a deal. Anyway I was looking for an axle in the 26.8 range and while I am going to get mine cut down I was hoping for a stock replacement in case I break one in the future.

According to the Warn chart, closet app is 27.01 from a 72-81 CJ

Is that for the rear. I thought when I looked at the warn chart it was for front only

Yup that was front, didn't catch the fact you were looking for rear.
