What mid 80s vehicle is this HP D44 coming out of? I assume front since you already have a D44 rear.

There is no 1980+ hp solid Dana 44, that's probally why you can't find anything. If it is HP it has to be late 70's ford.

he sent me a icture of the driver side axle tube, I have no idea what year it is, its a solid axle though
As said, there's no such thing as a mid-80s HP D44. Ford went to TTB in 1980 and the only solid axle in a Ford after that would be a Dana 60 starting in 1985 or Dana 50 starting in 1999.

Want to bet?
I'll bet you that you can't find a 67 - "early 70's" Ford F100/F150 pickup with a low pinion.
My view is 66-79 Ford F100/F150 ALL had high pinions.
Say $20?

Where did that come from?
Are you saying that a mid-80s HP D44 is avalible?
or
Are you challangeing someone to find a 67 - "early 70's" Ford F100/F150 pickup with a low pinion?
It seems kind of random?
And isint their a thread from like 02 that puts up a bounty which has yet to be claimed?
edit found it http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91801&highlight=low+pinion+dana+44
