Project J-30 needs some gusset embelishments and yea I could draw some chit but free be better. Can anyone lead me to some free or cheap CAD DETAILS that are things like;

SYMBOLS RELATIVE TO 4X4'S
RADIATION
SKULLS ETC
DEVILS
MALTESE CROSS'S
EXPLOSIVE STUFF
GENERAL RUDE AND OBTRUSIVE IMAGES
FTW ETc ET AL

Basically any and everything that would be cool wet jet cut into roll cage and other gussets to lighten the load and make all purdy :smokin:

Yea I poste din high tech, I do not see low tech guys using CAD and designing w/ precision...move this if necessary.

TIA!

i am a CNC programmer and designer. You can pay me a small fee or pay with beer and ill design and draw anything you want. Otherwise most places that will cut shit for you can do about anything. What you have in mind? Just tell me what you want and how big and ill draw some shit up tonight.

Just curious, but if you have the resources to cut and program being a "CAD Whore", why would you need someone elses hard work?

Unless it's for profit?.

Imagination and Inspiration is few and far between these days spidr. People think that CNC and CAD/CAM can be taught over night. I've got 2 degrees in this and been working in shops ever since i was 15 (sweeping floors) and i get stumped every day. Some folks dont realize the difficulty in putting an image in your head onto a computer screen.

But i will gladly take your money to make a few drawings for you. even put them in any kind of format you need, dwg, iges, stp, sat, x_t, mcx.

Whoever does your work, make sure they dont compromise the integrity of the gusset by making it look cool. Id rather have a standard 45degree plate that works than something that looks good and will buckle everytime.

YEP, This cad design stuff can take a lot of time if your not fully up to speed. I can get with the program (A-CAD 08) for sure but.... Yes I "could" draw some of this stuff as you see but the jest of the request was for some off the shelf drawings I could consider and throw around in design and NOT ask for someone to do it for me for free, why would anyone even incinuate such a thing? There are free cad details galore on the web, I just can not find the good stuff :( So I asked... Whatever...

I did find a Raster to Vector program that is indeed some help and I have been playing with that. As far as what exactly I want well, dam, I ummm, well, lemme see here.....ahhhh, maybe..... crap I dunno, I wanted to see stuff and get inspired ! :) The biggest gusset center is like 9" left to right for scale and I will prob Stencil water jet cut "J-30" right there and perhaps some "Stars" where other circle weight reduction holes are. Maybe a couple of radiation symbols, maybe an AMC Logo or? Another thought was just going w/ the holes and maybe inserting some contrasting Socket Head bolts for looks. That would be cool to. Maybe some stars and some bolts and some words like "DANGER" ? I dunno...Thats why I am here, trying to get inspired...

This whole deal, the B Pillar anyways, is drawn to correct dims and ready to build. I just got to looking at the gussets and decided to look for some cad details I could put into said. SO for now I wish to retain the offer there sir mechanicalmongoose20 if I could and should you come up w/ some ideas I like I would certaily compensate you for sure but don't make stuff unless I approve concept first or unless your ok if I say I do not like it bro...

Here is a picture of what I want to build and I am pretty sure I will go w/ this design. Understand the Jeep is a J10 and the OE A and B Pillars are not stronger than a piece of 1" and 1.5" angle and "something" will be better then nothing. I will NOT be racing, I will NOT be doing insane rock crawling. This will be a weekend drive out and DRIVE HOME 4X / Fun truck Daily Driver and the worst wreck it would ever see is on the highway.

PURPLE = 1.75 x .120 HREW
RED = 2" x .250 DOM w/ Camburgs (lower)
YELLOW = 2.5" x 2.5" x .xxx wall Square
RED = Rear Window (Upper)
GREEN = Gussets
CYAN = Floor Line
BLUE = FRAME (Bottom)

I have Adobe Illustrator, and Rhino 3d, if you spend some time playing with them, you can do some cool things.
Adobe allows you to scan/photograph/save an image, export it as a DXF, then import it into (in my case Rhino 3d) or Autocad to clean up as cut file.

If you have the resources, I would suggest doing something like that, you're not going to find many guys willing to give you what you're looking for.

Get a copy of AutoCAD. Find any graphics you like on the internet. Save As TIFF. Insert TIFF into AutoCAD as a raster image. Trace the graphics you want to keep. Use Polyline command for smooth curves. Fine tune linework with grips. Put Raster image on "Defpoints" layer so post-processor doesn't see it. Send vector (DWG) to post prosessor. Check G-Code for errors. Cut away Padawan. Takes about 30 min per DWG once you get it down.

You might try the guys over at the fabricators file exchange. I am sure some of them might have files that are not posted on the site for gussets and such.

I am a Fire Protection Designer and have been using CAD for about 6 years now. I actually HAVE a Maltese Cross block (detail) that I made one day. IF i can find it in this black hole of a computer would you like it?

If i still had access to ACAD daily, i would draw up anything you want, I LOVE that stuff! I was accused at work of spending too much time making details like that. Unfortunatly i am unemployed and was kinda rushed out of the building, so I don't know when the last time i backed up my work computer (i keep the back-ups at home). I could do some diggin for the files and just email the DWG files to you. Yes for free, i dont care. You have touched the inner geek in me with this thread ^_^

Here is a lot of hard work for free for anyone... They are ".dwg" files so if you have a dwg viewer of CAD or Soilworks etc you can see and swipe these, for free... :)

Click for NUTS & BOLTS (http://www.plumbers.cc/images/pirate/nuts-bolts.dwg)

These are sized right, you can lenghten and shorten as needed...

Click for SIGNS (http://www.plumbers.cc/images/pirate/signs.dwg)

A guy can always use a couple hundred road signs to embelish his work ehh? :-)
