: Herculiner ?
Mud Slayer 2.0 01-05-2010, 05:32 PM Who used Herculiner for their actual bedliner.. I just bought my 06 GMC 2500HD and wana keep the bed looking nice as it's still preatty clean.. Ive put the stuff on many times on jeeps but after the customer picked it up i never saw it again.. how does it hold up?? does it help resist dents like others ?? I called LineX for a quote and 450 was ok but if i wanted to do red it was another 400 bux ! yea ok i can buy red herculiner for 10 bux more than reg..
Im also considering doing out trailer with it in the spring.. how does it resist rust and peeling ?
fullsize80cherokee 01-05-2010, 05:37 PM I'd spend the money on Line X. I've never used herculiner in a truck bed but i did the bottom 12" of an old jeep i had and the inside and it sucks

yea its like black paint with sand in it
alwaysbrokeYJ 01-05-2010, 06:13 PM I used it on the inside of my jeep and it didn't last too long. It was tough to hose the dirt out of it too! Honestly just after I finished, it didn't hold up to throwing stuff in and out. I wish I would have just got a line-x or one of the others. There was a review about another liner you put on yourself, here a few months ago I wondered how it held up too? Anyway, I wouldn't use it in a jeep again and SURE wouldn't use it for a truck bed!
84pickup 01-05-2010, 06:31 PM I herculined the bed that use to be on my truck and that stuff sucks. It faded really fast and it chipped and peeled really easy. Don't waste your time, just line-x it and be done with it.
KS Toy 01-05-2010, 08:29 PM I found it REALLY hard to get even and make it look good.
Jason4x4 01-05-2010, 09:48 PM I have heard good things about al's liner, vid on youtube, do it yourself, you buy the gun and everything from them.
Mud Slayer 2.0 01-06-2010, 01:07 AM Damn looks like no herculiner.. Im not paying LineX another 400bux to tint the liner red so ill look for other options..
littlyota 01-06-2010, 07:11 AM I purchased a truck with herculiner and is sucks. Long story short, but I had the truck repainted and ended up changing the bed to get rid of that crap. Got the new bed for almost nothing. Had the bed re-shot with Rhino liner
It will get your clothes dirty when you sit or slide on it. It is still on my tailgate and I have to be carefull what I am wearing if I sit on it.
Horrible product!!!!!
Champion 01-07-2010, 03:40 AM i used it in the bed of my '95 F350, i preped it correctly and it still did not last more than a year. i have had 3 trucks now with LineX in it and i will never have anything else. LineX is well worth the money.
robs88yj 01-07-2010, 05:41 AM I have used Herculiner on my Jeep and it fades, is hard to wash mud out of. On a pick-up I used to have I did the bed with Gator Liner got it at an auto paint store for ~$30 a kit. Needed 2 kits to do a shortbed F-150. You spray it on with a undercoat gun. Looked good. Held up fairly well. I think I hauled a tranny to quickly and gouged a small spot in it. You need to prep the same as Herculiner. Even though I used 2 kits if I was to do it again I would do 3 for a shortbed and probably 4-5 for a longbed. Didn't keep the truck long enough to comment on fading. A friend did his bumper and slider with the same product and it still looks good 5yrs later.

+1 I was going to Herculine the tub on my Scout. I saw a thread by Yaeger that used Al's Liner, and it came out noooice:grinpimp: It's a two part polyurethane which is a lot tougher and UV resistant than Herc
AND you can get lots of different colors.

Mud Slayer 2.0 01-07-2010, 10:14 AM Hmm... Ive talked to some people with a bedrug who love them but i look at pics and i just cant take my truck seriously with carpet in the bed.. even though they have prooved that it holds up great..
guidolyons 01-07-2010, 11:05 PM Bed Rug? :laughing All the bedrug does (and the plastic drop in bedliners) do is trap shit underneath.
If you do decide to get it done professionally, here's another vote for LINE-X. On my Dodge, I had LINE-X sprayed, ~$475 over the rail.
I'm going to try the Al's Liner on the Scout.
89breaker 01-08-2010, 01:40 AM My jeep has rhino liner and my truck has line-x.
LINE-X kicks ass.
I only see line-x on military/government stuff but haven't seen anything else FWIW.
