would somebody make some damm alloy shafts the have some real yokes!!! This is lame
i had replaced the broken stub 30 spline and ujoint(clips and caps flew off,not using full circle rings) it seemed that the caps went in very easy.. well i pulled the front shafts tonight to check everything out the the caps spin free if u twist the stub.. well suppose i will weld..its the only option.. and get some weak as mile marker hubs..anybody know of anything weaker.
the splines on the inner shafts had no signs of twist or even any wear.. they were clean and shinny just like day i got them..

here is one solution i was thinkin about.. take my superwinch hubs grind a few of the splines out of the innerpart hoping that with the right number of spline removed that the shaft would just tear up the cast hub inner instead of tearing up more expnesive stuff.. kinda like the warn hub fuse but hillbilly style>>>any thoughts

It doesn't get any weaker than Mile Marker, even if you sabotage a superwinch it will still be stronger :D

Mile Marker will warranty them though, I have a nice new set in a box for spares (if I go through 2 sets of Superwinch first :D )

what if u were to temper the yokes..ie get them cherry and quench them.. im no metalulgist..would this make them stronger or just more brittle...

define heat them up are we talking cherry or what??

I am guessing this is with the caps out to keep from burning the grease?

yes.. without the caps in there.. you can do the same thing on a driveshaft if you have spun cups
