I did a th400/doubler swap in my Jimmy. I used the plumbing from my 700r4 for the coolers. I have a 10x12" approx cooler with a fan and the radiator cooler still inline. I have a leak, from the radiator lines, and nothing is lose. My question is, can I safely bypass the radiator trans cooling lines and just use my fanned cooler?

yes but you will lose some cooling from the radiator side of the deal. but with the fan you will prolly be fine

yeah, I was sure I would lose some cooling but I wasn't sure how much. Some people say to ditch them and some people use them. I don't have room to run two external coolers so I want to make sure before I bypass the radiator cooler.

whenever we do an aftermarket cooler at the trans shop i work at we always run them inline with the radiator, unless the radiator is completly plugged up or leaking. we have ran plenty of them without the radiator side to it and they have been fine

thanks. that is exactly what I wanted to know. Obviously if I bypass it and it gets too hot, I know why and what to do to fix it. I just want to go on a wheelin trip and want to get by safely.
