I have a lockright in my 12 bolt and one thing about it really bothers me. The crosspin in the carrier beating against the lockright because it doesnt fit tight to it. I have the good cross pin or pinion shaft whatever you want to call it, so I dont think thats going to break but the slack in the drivetrain seems like its gonna tear up something else... Anyone else have problems with this?

I had a lockright in my 12 bolt it did great with
33 inch half bald tires, but when I went to 36" tsl's I grenaded it and the ring and pinion.
12 bolts are junk in a fullsize like mine but I guess they work in a lightwieght toyota. the slack in your crosspin is normal. Be sure you carry a spare set of springs and pins for you lockright,
they are designed to break before anything else,at least thats what lockright told me. thats why they sell the pins and springs in a kit seperately.
hope this helped.

I wouldn't put a lock right in my ex-girlfriends Nissan Exterra.
One of my club members was running a 12-bolt with 4.10's in his Chevy pickup with 35's. He bought a lock-rite from 4Wheel Parts and installed it, it lasted about two weeks. The extremely loud bang and crashing everytime he went around a corner was really starting to bother him so he pulled to cover to reveal the lockrite half stripped, so he called 4Wheel Nazi Bastards back and they said sent it back, so he did, two weeks went by and he finally got his new locker, installed it that day, three days later he was driving down a straight paved road at 50mph, when he pulled out to pass a car, he pulled out, gave it some gas, and the truck just free revved. He coasted to a stop and sad ther at idle listening to a constant clicking, he got out an looked underneath to see his driveshaft turning and the truck not moving. After limping home he pulle the cover to find the lock-rite was now a pile pile of shavings in the bottom of the housing, and his stock carrier was now cracked and wobbled out around the pinion shaft. 4Wheel parts said no money back since it was over 30 days, even though he only had the product less than three weeks. It was then, and only then, that he was told that the lock-rite was not designed for V8 power or tires over 31" Don't think I'll ever be buying any of those lunch box lockers for anything I own.
The 12-bolt is a decent axle if the vehicle weight is kept down or tire size is limited to 33's, with a full-float conversion it becomes quite strong. A spool is available but you need to run the c-clip eliminator setup that seems to only leak alot.
