Ok , I know this is a newbie question , and Yes , I know I'm gonna get flamed , But what the hey:p On my Dana44 front axle , I have a bad leak on the pumpkin where the yoke goes into it. And I mean it leaks pretty good. I'm guessing that it is always leaking because that it is throwing up the fluid when I'm driving it ? Question is this , Has anyone ever tried to use the stuff that they use on the motors to stop seals from leaking ? And if so , what was the result ?Yeah , I know , It is probably a pretty dumb question , but I really dont wanna have to go in and pull my ring and pinion, and reset it all. I thought that this might actually or hopefully work. Thanks for any and all advise , Now , let the FLAMING begin:nuke: :flipoff2:

I may be wrong, but I think you can just pull the yoke out and put in a new seal. Should impact the nut off the yoke and slide it out to access the seal.

Again, maybe I'm wrong?

Good luck!

just change the pinion seal.

To stop it from leaking temporarily, smack a good heafty 3 finger dip of wheel bearing grease around the pinion seal. Thatll hold it for a bit.

The seal ain't sealing no more, man. Time for a new one. But, the new seal may not seal too good either if the surface upon which it rides is grooved and / or otherwise not smooth. Might be time for another one of those, as well.

Seal safely
