Cheepin 10-02-2002, 08:22 PM My buddy is installing a new cam in his 454.He has them cam in and after adjusting the lifters.When he rotates the crank 4 of the intake rockers get really loose,like 1/4 of gap.He said he adjusted them 4 times following the instructions and still no luck.The pushrods are in the same spot they came out of.Also they are new lifters.I did a cam in my 454 and had no problems not sure what is going on in his.Any help would be appreciated.Blazin SCOTTS_4X 10-02-2002, 08:25 PM solid lifters? is he running it to adjust them? the only way to adjust your lash when a motor is not running is when you run solid lifters. if they are hyd. lifters then how is he adjusting the lash without the lifters being pumped up? a little more info needed for anyone to diagnose properly. -Scott Cheepin 10-02-2002, 08:35 PM Hyd.lifters. he is setting them according to the factory.TDC on #1 in firing position,adjust exhaust 1,3,4,8,intake 1,2,5,7.Then rotate so you have the #6 TDC in firing position and adjust exhaust 2,5,6,7,intake3,4,6,8.Blazin | |
