"A Department of Natural Resources report says hunters shot 10 buildings in 2009. That's down from 25 in 2008, 19 in 2007, and 15 in 2006."

Apparently, the poster campaign on how to identify a deer has paid off.

I think its more due to the fact that less people hunted this year in WI... they harvested a few thousand deer less than they had planned to I know that for a fact.

Well that is good news. How the hell do you shoot a building while deer hunting?

Spot the building, make sure the back stop is safe, aim, and squeeze the trigger.

There were 11 hunters arrested this year for being intoxicated. It's a 9 day season IIRC.

If I recall correctly(we have a place in WI too) you are not allowed to paint propane tanks(the big outdoor ones) any color because people wouldn't notice them and shoot and hit them... I don't get how... but they did.

My buddy was shooting at a groundhog and managed to hit the conduit coming out of the meter that fed his grandmothers barn a couple months ago.

Some people just don't think.

iam kinda ashamed to admit this because i like my dad, but one time while living in mich., we kinda had a skunk problem, well one got into the garbage in the garage, well m y dad got the shotgun and blow away the skunk, however the buckshot hit the skunk, skipped off the concrete into the cars radiator, we laughed alittle bit until we got the LOOK. RIP pops:D

It would probably result in a nationwide hunting ban, but I would like to see a tally of all the non-animal things hunters accidently hit. First time I went bow hunting I killed a trail-camera, they really should stop putting those things near where the deer go.

My grandpa did something like that, once.

Saw a rat in the back-yard, told my uncle to grab the 12ga, missed the rat and hit a brick retaining wall, second shot hit the rat. That was in 68 or 69, the house was for sale about a year ago so I went and checked it out, the 1ft diameter divot in the wall is still there:laughing: Guess my uncle should have grabbed bird-shot not 00 buck, and if he did the same thing today, SWAT would be there in under a minute, something about shooting in a city, 1000 yards from both an primary and a middle school just doesn't go over well anymore.

My dad's buddy shot his own truck.........................twice. He was using the passenger side bedrail for a rest & shooting over the truck at something (probably poaching a deer knowing this guy), looked through the scope, pulled the trigger, and realized he'd missed. So, he shot again - 2 holes in the driver's side bedside

Having met your Pops and heard the stories from your brother, I don't doubt this one bit :smokin: I still like the one about the gun going off in the truck and shooting a hole in the roof, but I don't remember which on of you did that :D
