Do you think I need a CV???? My feeling is no but I have had one for so long it almost feels wrong to go without.

that is a pretty shallow angle to that rockwell...I would forget it!!

Is it a street or a hi speed rig. If so, then you got to get them withing 1*. If it is just a trail rig, then forget about the cv.

yep what he said measure it!!

and for drop, don't wrry about it..also just because it is a CV doesn't mean it has more travel....just balances out unequal opposite forces..

jeeper 111 I would say if thye are in 3degrees of each other (opposite directions but 3 total you should be fine....from my experience)

maybe ask jess

but post measurements first ya jackass nobody can tell from your pics !!!!!!

(elf told me to say it)

Depends on the u-joint you use.

If you use a 1410, it can handle that plus any drop you throw at it.

Hard to tell from the pic. Dou you have a compound angle?

Your DS might look fine and theoretically be supposed to work based upon the up and down angle... BUT if you have slight compound angle - i.e. diff not exactly in front of t-case output - it ~could~ cause it to bind.

Mine did when I switched to the Atlas - front DS 4-5"-ish shorter. Based upon the size of the 1350 and the slight compound angle, it would bind at ride height. I ended up re-tubing my 1310 CV driveshaft to overcome this.. *sigh*

When It blows.. time to upgrade to something from our friend OneTonCV... :D

No offense to Jesse, builds a great product, but I wouldn't worry about a cv on a trail truck unless the driveline chatter is unbearable, I should put one on my front shaft with the drive flanges on my rockwell the shaft chatter in my t-cases is so bad at 45 mph you can't here the 44's or the wind for that matter over it.

I dont know whats wrong with your T-case but I dont think that is right. You should talk to elf-cruiser, he had the same problem. As far as compound angle. I think there maybe a little due to the fact that when you flip a rockwell center section, it centers the ring gear inspection cover but the pinion is off by about 2 inches. I dont think that this shaould be a problem though because alot of stock vehicles dont have perfectly centered rear pinions.

Ah... I just realized... You're talking about REAR drive shaft. I was referring to front... doh!...
