Hi all,

Where's a good campground in the Black Hills, SD area you'd recommend for camping at for approx 30 rigs. Looking at the July 7-11 week of 2003 (Mon-Fri)- any big events going on at that time we should avoid?

Thanks,
Dustin

Check out http://www.bh4wheelers.com/

That's the black hills 4x4 webpage. I know where they had the Dakota Challange a few years ago was a pretty good spot. On of those guys should be able to tell where to go. Sorry I can't help you out more....I'm here for school but still don't know the area very well. :(

Thanks guys. Whispering Pines was one of the campgrounds on my list of places to consider- was looking for personal experiences of places to avoid or not.

Check out Fish-N-Fry. This is the campground where they used to have the DTC until they got too big. A guy named Randy owns Fish-N-Fry and is very 4-wheeler freindly. He also knows who to get ahold of if you need parts. Send me an e-mail if you'd like more info or the phone number.

I forgot to mention that Randy will let you have a big campfire at Fish-N-Fry if you want one. I'm not sure about Whispering Pines. I know they let the DTC have a campfire but that's kind of a different deal.

Whispering pines is nice. I have only stayed there during DTC, but showers/shitter is nice. The main lodge has lots of the basics for sale, and it doesn't seem to be too far from most of the trails. The best thing about the Pines is they will have no problem with 30 rigs, trailers, tow rigs/motor homes.
