I have a dana70hd and im swaping to 14bolt hubs. Is this just a simple bolt in or lots of work ? I have a set of 14bolt srw hubs thats on the way to my shop. I dont want to run a rear spacer so ive been told it will work. Are the bearing and seals the same on the 70 vs 14bolt? Also Im running DIY4X new H1 bead locks with 4.75 back spacing. So this should be a good setup. I have from DIY4X his weld in disk break kit for the dana 70hd . So this should be a good setup?

The hubs are a direct bolt on, bearings are the same but I'm not sure about the seals. Have you welded on the brake kit yet? If not, you'll be good to go. If you have the flange will need to be moved to accomodate the new placement of the rotor.

Im waiting for the kit but i was shipped the rotors. Direct bolt on is always better, Any write ups around?

why are you wanting the super wide axle setup when you already have recenterd wheels?

So then my setup would be ok how it is? I want close to stock or just over stock

Most people do the hub swap when running stock H1 wheels so the rear will match the front width of the Drw D60 front.

Stock or just over stock of what? A drw D60 front?

im keeping the drw hubs in the front and want to match the track front to rear

Then swap the rear hubs and run stock H1's. Save the money on recentering and buy a locker.

x2, dont run the wide axles and recenter, do one or the other.

you will be better off if you run stock h1's and setup the wide rear.

you put recenters on the drw you will be a metric fuckton wider than stock.

both have lockers. even with 4.5 bs would it look like crap? Whats a stock h1 for bs? When I talked to diy4x they said if would be wide but not overly. I just want my rear to some what match the front.Any pix of what a truck looks like with drw hubs in the front and rear?. I rather do it right the first time

stock h1s are 7"+ bs, this is a drw front and a srw rear axle with spacers that makes 76.5" wide.

it stick out less that my srw setup with 37's did.

No one sells h1 to canada. Whats 4 12 bolt worth ? Also I might go that way with a corp14 srw hub

12 usually go for about $80-60 each. how far from the border are you?

arange shipping to close to the border then drive over to pick them up.

i may have misread your first post. do you have recenterd h1 or home made beadlocks already?

Whats the measure of a dana 70 to a srw corp 14? Or would my dana 70 look goofy left how it is on stock h1's

well your front axle will be 5" wider than your rear, not the biggest deal ever but it is going to suck you rear tires in substantaily.

it would give a serious wtf look especaily when you have such a short wheel base.

a drw d70 is 72"
a srw 14bff is 67.5"
a drw d70 with srw 14bff hubs is 77", exactly as wide as a front drw d60.

So if I understand correctly, the corporate 14bolt 10.5" ff hubs will fit on a DRW Dana70HD - is that all that is required or do new drums have to be added? Any links to that conversion (pics)?

It is the easiest swap there is. The spindles on the 14FF are the same as the GM D70HD. Therefore, the hubs take the same bearings and seals.

Why are you asking about drums when you mentioned that you are getting DIY4X's disk brackets.

stock brakes will not work without welding a new backing plate mount on, disc or drum, either way you have to weld.......

Rethinking the stopping power requirements - 3/4t discs and 10000# truck plus heavy trailer not a good idea in the Rockies...

3/4 ton front brakes, mounted on a rear axle, are plenty sufficient. Feel free to compare them to the factory rear discs on any 1 ton truck.

Bump this back to the top, revive the old dead topic. Anybody ever run a D60 (DRW hubs) and Dana 70HD with 14b SRW hubs to match, with regular say 4" back spaced wheels instead of the H1 wheels? I know it'd be wide as fuck, but how rediculous does it look?

i did this. direct swap....when i went to disc brakes we just had another backing flange machined and welded it out the proper distance from the factory flange. used 14 bolt disc brake conversion brackets and 14 bolt SRW hubs.

TA-DA....wide ass axle.

edit: for the bump... im using stock h1's.

my bad i know that wasnt what you were asking.

it is fuckign retarded and you wind uo with an insane scrub radius, you would need hydro assist turn turn with 33"s.

however, it wouldnt be a bad idea if you were mud/sand draging or sand hillclimbing.

that's what i figured, lol! I may try and turn down the DRW front hubs, the d60 fronts are $$$!!
