I am at a crossroads in my build and need yall's help. I have a 1981 K10 sitting on 10/12 bolts. I'm running a 350 backed by 465/205 combo. For tires, Im running 37" MT/Rs. Here is my dilema, do I spend the money on a 60/14 bolt combo or just pony up and mount up some Rocs? Obviously, bigger tires are in the mix. This truck is driven on occasion to work so I dont think running pinon brakes will work safely. I am leaning towards finding a set of tons and staying on my G'years for now.

Give me your honest feedback please:flipoff2:

If you like sky-high trucks, go ahead, get the Rockwells. There is nearly no way to make them fit under a full-bodied rig without an enormous lift. The ratio sucks balls on the street. They're heavy, and you should really be running 42's at a minimum to even consider it.

And they will cost you more than the 1-ton stuff, right off the bat. Tires, wheels, brakes etc are not cheap compared to a 60/14bolt.

I have both setups, and the Rockwells are by far the costlier of the two.

Another vote for 60/14. Especially if you are going to be driving it on the street.

I was in that same stage for a min until i found out how much it would cast to gear them down and switch the breaks over. Get the 1 tons.

you wont outgrow one tons until you get off the pavement and into something that does not move and provides huge amounts of traction.

from my vantage point, you dont need one tons. but Rockwells are surely overkill.
