I am planning a project, entailing many things.
I am going to coil front suspension and 1/4 elliptical rear.
In order to increase stability I have been advised to extend the wheelbase 10". I am planning on doing all the work myself, and was wondering if there was any information, websites, advice that anybody had. I am planning on tubing the rear, very similar to AZRockcrawlers design. If I move the wheelbase, should I move front 5" and back 5", or back 10". I have heard the problem with moving the front is moving all the steering assembly. Any input would be greatly appreciated.:)

The other problem with moving the front forward is loosing weight bias. If you do much climbing, you'll want to keep the weight over the front axle. Move the front far enough to get good approach and room for the tire, and try to keep overhand to a min. With coils, front frame extensions aren't necessary (or wanted). I've seen Sami's with V6, radiator, and 8K winch and no added length to the frame! It can be done.

JMO: 2-3" max up front, the rest in back. Yes, down hill will suffer, but gravity does all the work anyway.. :)

like okcrawler said 2-3" in the front much more and you have steering problems the rest in the rear. in lenghtn mine 15" in the rear. putting yjs in the front moved mine forward about 2-3". i'm thinking about doing a s/r or coils. if i do s/r i have to move i forward that much more to keep the axles off what little body i have. and i think i'll have steering issues. IMO also
