if this has been posted before let me know and i'll delete it...i got it from another board i go to...

I consider it attempted murder when traps are set up to injure motorcycle riders. If you see any eco terrorist traps like those listed at offroad.com in the Earth First death manual please report it to the police.

This came from Damian S of Yorba Linda and was posted on a KTM message board.

"This weekend (Sunday) I was riding in Stoddard Valley (about 20min east of Victorville). While riding down one of my favorite trails I found a 2 x 4 with nails in it face up at the bottom of a pretty steep downhill. I fortunately missed hitting it. I picked up the 2x4 bent the nails and placed it under a some rocks so no one else could get hurt. Within 30mins I found 5 more. I warned every rider I saw of what I found. One guy on a WR426 told me he had found two earlier in the morning. Someone's going to get hurt or worse. I didn't see any Rangers to tell (that figures) so I reported it to the Sheriffs Dept. on my way home. I thought I'd better get this posted so others can be warned that there are evil people out there playing evil games. Please be careful !!!! "

This was posted by Moto vet. He listed other areas where traps are set up to injure riders.

"Riders also BEWARE of the following areas that are also constantly BOOBY-TRAPPED;

MANZANITA WASH (northside of west Cajon Ridge,Phelan)

all WEST CAJON RIDGE TRAILS

HORSE CANYON (west of Hwy138+Hwy2 junction)

SHEEPCREEK WASH (north-east of Wrightwood,northside of Hwy2)

EAST SWARTHOUT VALLEY (east Wrightwood, southside Hwy2-"the Levels")

We constantly find -and remove- WIRE tied between bushes neck level, Big ROCKS and TREES rolled onto trails (especially at sudden unexpected places), REBAR SPIKES sticking up 6"-12", and the WOOD+NAILS traps

Me, my wife, and many friends ride these areas alot, my wife and children almost daily. Last December I crashed hard laying my bike down before hitting a wire, and my friend Mike ended up in the Hospital hitting a burried tree. The WIRE and REBAR really scare me the most, and I feel its a Terrorist Attact against me+my family+friends+other trail riders, with the intent of causing Serious Injury+Death to us. "

Traps were also set up at Wild Wash Road and a rider got hurt really bad there because of it. The rangers found several traps in the area with vehicle tire tracks leading to each trap. This needs to be taking more seriously from the Sheriffs department and reported as attempted murder whenever you find these traps. Take pictures of these traps and of any other evidence like tire tracks that could be of help in catching the people who are doing this. Please feel free to copy this message and post it on other message boards to inform others about these eco terrorist traps. Remember the girl in Orange County that was putting razor blades and glass in childrens playgrounds? She is in jail and so should the people be who are setting up these terrorist traps.

if you see this happening get pictures of them doing it, then pull the traps, call the cops, and press whatever charges can be with the hard evidence (pics)

This is VERY serious. I've heard of sledders and ATVers getting beheaded by wire. If I ever get lucky enought to catch one of these eco-nazi murderers in the act there won't be enough left to put in a thimble.:mad:

yes, all the places listed are in CA...but keep your eyes open wherever you ride, this is/has been happening all over the country....Earth first actually published a "death manual" on how to make booby traps for your favorite trails....I think Brad still has it on ORC and can give us the link....

most are in the Barstow/Victor Valley/ Palmdale general area (you can grab a map and look for the places if you need more specific locations, as there is general locations in each lineabove) ..... you should be fine in Hungry Valley, as it is a state designated OHV area...most of this type stuff happens in more "remote" types of trails....

Alot of these areas are high speed WFO type trails. The type of riding that there would be NO WAY of stopping once, and if, you were able to see the trap :mad:
