my frame build!

I just got my 2" BDS yj springs today. when I set them up (on the above frame), should I have the same distance from the center pin vertical to the frame, for both the front and rear leafs (with no weight)? I did not know if I should make the fronts an inch or so higher, for engine weight (4.3 chevy v6).

Any advice would be great! thanks

Stock or longer shackles? Same as original configuration or shackle reversal front? Do you still have the original frame for reference?

I would leave the the same. If you need just add another leaf or two to the leaf pack in the front. Just get a couple of junk yrad leafs for that (if needed)

You're running the same setup as me, spring and frame wise albeit a bit longer as it's for a CJ5. After a 7 year hiatus I'm back to it again and will be planning the shackle mount placement soon. I planned on as you previously said, keep them the same distance. You can always make longer or shorter shackles depending on what you need to level it, or you can sink the shackle mounts into the frame as needed. Check out Geesh's build, we made our frames about the same time, however his got finished and mine's been sitting in the garage since haha. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=295400&highlight= BTW what is your projected tire size?

I got the 2" yj springs mounted and it sat way to high, with the soa. To the bottom of the frame with just the frame weight, it was 28". This was with bald 35" tires that measure 34". I do not think with body and motor weight, that the springs will sag 4+ inches. I then mounted the axles sua. It looks a lot better (I think), and it is 22" to the bottom of the frame. I think this will be good for new 36 or 37 inch tires.

From the front spring pin to the rear spring pin is just under 100" wb.

I called bds today and they said, the 2" yj springs have 6" of free arch. I asked if they would drop 4" with the complete weight of the jeep. They said, that should be "about" the correct drop. I do not like the "about" word. does anyone have experience with how much the 2" bds spring will flatten out. When I ordered them I was thinking they would be about 2" over being flat!
