A couple years back, I posted about wanting to make my 89' F superduty, 4 wheel drive. I've been thinking about it more lately, and have done a little research. Luckily, I have the 4X4 version of the tranny, But, I'm not sure how the tranny mounted parking break will come into play. I would like to keep it, but, If I add a BW 1356, Will the parking brake mount to the back of it? and, if so, would that make my drive shaft angle to steep? Plus there is also a carrier bearing to think about. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks in advance. John

you will loose the parking brake. and fyi the trans in your truck is already the 4wd version so just bolt the case on.

If you put a slip yoke style 1356 in there, you can remove the slip yoke housing and built an adapter to bolt your parking brake on the back of it, the output on the 1356 slip yoke cases is the same as the input.
