I had one when I was undergeared and liked it, as it holds up better to the necessary clutch slippage. However, after installing adequate gears (4,89 t-case, 4,88 diffs), I found it too "grippy" and went back to a stock clutch.

Now, I was using a dual Centerforce. I donīt know how the single unit would be.........

Yeah I think that is what I have to decide. Since this guy in OH dicked me over on buying his 5 to 1 gears I can not afford to get gears I am just going to get a better clutch. It will be fine untill I put on bigger tires just need to see if I should get a dual or regular center force????

Anyone.....Anyone.....

I run a regular centerforce. It has a real soft feel. It's got great control, if I'm working a hill I can stop the tries and hold without using brakes, then continue all with the clutch. I've only smoked it one time, climbing a front tire up a vertical bolder about 3' high.

Considering, I'm running a 1.3 clutch with my 1.6 8V motor, I can't hardly call it weak, but if you were REAL hard on clutches it might not be enough....

How about a complete Petroworks heavy duty clutch? With brand new throwout bearing, new pilot bearing, and resurfaced flywheel? $225 + shipping for all of it. Got one I need to dump, never been installed.

I'm running a Dual Centerforce with a 1.3, 33's, 5:38 R&P and stock t-case. It is WAY harder to push and the engagement area is VERY short. There is no room to slip the clutch. It is either engaged or disengaged. I'm going back to a normal Centerforce with the new rig. Just my .02

there is a GRS-II For Sale (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=85153) in the classifieds forum. Sellin for $800 and includes beefed t-case arms for both sides. could be better than a clutch in the long run.

I have the centerforce dual friction clutch in mine. It acts the same way nczuk described it, but once you get use to it the short throw of the clutch is nice. Don't have to move the feet around as much and engagement is quick, oh and it frickin holds awesome.

I helped develope this clutch. It ROCKS. The design of this clutch is of a dual friction material design. The disk uses a copper puck design to prevent slippage on the cover side and a high performance organic material on the other side for slippage. The slippage is controlled to heat up the flywheel rather than the cover as the flywheel can take more heat and disperse it easier(like a fan) as it spins and because it is molecularly able to disperse heat better than a stamped steel piece(cover assy.)The cover also has heavy duty springs in it. .........the centerforce clutch uses centrifugal force to give more grip...if its not spinning fast enough to get the extra grip you don't have anything better than a stock type clutch assy.Get it awn here WWW.PETROWORKS.COM TELL THEM SCOTT SENT YA.......L8TR
