I have a Fj80 LC with OME 3.5 inch lift with metal tech. spacers in the front to level out the weight of the ARB bar and winch up front. I am looking to put 39 inch boggers (i do plan on doing some serious cutting) and i need to know where to look for buying good gears for regearing and any other tips on what else needs to be done in this department... I have also experienced a lot of "creaking" in the steering when making hard turns at very low speeds.... what is making the noise and what needs to be done to fix that? (Pics are on their way)

If the "creaking" shows up as the weight shifts you should look at all your suspensiln bushings. If it from the act of turning you should look at your birfields. As far as re-gear - there are several options but Iron Pig offroad has re-gear packages on sale right now and they are great guys to deal with.

Nice 80, it'll look bad ass on 39s. Are you seriously being spotted through that rut?

My guess the creaking is birfields but it could also be the suspension bushings. Sometimes OME bushings creak inside the control arms. They are so hard that sometimes I've even heard them pop. The OEM rubber bushings are more pliable and don't creak/squeak.
Boy 39s are going to be a trick on an 80. You are probably going to have to shift the rear axle back in order to keep the rear doors functioning with that amount of lift. Well I guess you could seriously lower the bumpstops and depend 100 percent on droop. Mark Hawley did an awesome job of fitting 37s on his 80 with J springs and an inner fender lift and outer fender trimming. Check it out at www.metaltech4x4.com I think he may have done a write up on it here or maybe on Ih8mud.
I was also going to suggest www.actionjackson.com but it appears he took down his 80 build. He was on 40" MTRs. But he basically did a whole new suspension. Most of the people going larger than 37s are running some sort of custom suspension.
Is it really an FJ80? Or is it an FZJ80? The reason I ask is if it is an FZJ80 and you have factory lockers you may as well ditch them now and go for ARBs and get over to Longfield and get some front axles and birfs as you are going to need them. If an FJ80 I don't believe there are any rear axle upgrades available for the semi-float. If you have the fullfloater from an FZJ80 Poly Performance makes upgraded rear shafts.
