I am in the midst of a drivetrain swap on the neighbors scout 800. It came with a D20/T90/196. We are installing a D20/T19/304. Question for you folks, what tranny did the Scout 800 with 304 use? I've got the t19 mounted, but had to do some firewall massaging to get it to fit.
Thanks much

It is my understanding that the Scout 800 used both the T90, and a short shaft T18, even in rare cases a wide T18. The Scout II's used the long input shaft T18/T19, but some 4 bangers also used a short shaft don't know if it was a T18 or T19. You're best bet to improve the clerance problems, would be to use the guts of Ford 2wd T18 to allow for a shorter input shaft, and you would have the added bonus of granny first. Use the output (main) shaft out of the 4wd T-18 with the Ford parts to complete the swap.

Have you seen any pictures of the 800 with a V8 installed? The T19 I am using was from a scout 2. It has a very long bellhousing, which is needed to move the motor forward enough that the valve covers clear the firewall. I'm curious where everything wound up in the stock scout 800 304 configuration.
