Ive been seeing alot more good reviews and suggestions toward Rock Krawlers kits then any of them lately. Ive been torn between building my own 3-link, but dont wanna chop up my floor board. So, i been looking at the RK kits inwhich arent a radius setup, but everyone who has one of the two doesnt post which they have, The X Factor Plus Long Arm Upgrade or The X Triple Threat Long Arm Upgrade. So for those running a RK kit, which of the two do you have and would recommend?. All im gonna do is order the Upgrade and piece together all the rest to how i want it. Im really interested in one of the two cause they are 3 to 4 link, no radius arms.

You've ALMOST got the right idea. The reason the kits don't require you to cut a hole in your floor is because they're meant for street performance. If you want your rig to perform well offroad, you need more vertical seperation at the frame. The kits are meant for easy bolt/weld on applications for your average weekend wheeler. You could still build your own and not cut into the floor, but the geometry is not going to be great. Either way it's better than a radius arm. 3 link is the way to go. Keep reading and do your reasearch.

what vehicle is this going on?
what type of wheeling are you doing?
what kinda $$ do you wanna spend?
Rock Krawler has improved its kits, and is beefy as hell. I will be going RK this summer

Its going on a '93 XJ.. My wheeling mostly consists of mud, prety steep dirt hills and very few rocks. From what i see in other post, all the dom tubing and ends and so forth will run 450 or so to do the build inwhich i can handle that, if not more. Ive got the experience and also connections on setting up my own 3-link. Im no hardcore wheeler so im gonna be building this D30. Ive just been leaning against it because of having to chop up the floor board, though i want enough uptravel to where my 35"s almost rub the inner fenders.

If it's just for mud then it won't matter. You don't need to cut the floor. Radius arms will work fine.

Well see thats the things, yea mud is the majority of it, but on the places we ride there are some prety rough and steep hills to climb...

Look at the TnT Customs (treks offroad) kit it is by far the best radius arm setup!

A front suck-down winch or limit straps may be your solution to keep the front from unloading too much during steep climbs

See i had thought of that, though i built my bumpers with a 2" receiver adapter in the middle for a remote winch plate for front or back. So i believe id have to run a limiting strap instead. Anyone on here used a limiting strap instead of a winch?

Get a 2 or 3,000 pound little winch.... mount it inside the driver framerail so the cable will run parallel with the axle. Weld a tab with a cable pully on the center of the axle. Attach the cable to the other framerail. Wire, remote inside cab. Done. Suck down winch.
IMHO I dont like the idea of using your pulling winch as a suck down. Typically its hard to route the cable and make it work right with out jeopodizing ruining the cable. Plus, a few guys a running this little guy for 70 bucks... http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=95912 and making it work quite well.
EDIT: Or build a 3 Link.
