the body on my Jimmy has seen better days to say the least. Southwest PA winters being in the rust belt took there toll. so ive been considering fixing the body.

i have a chance to get a 78 Jimmy body from SoCal. it is virtually rust free with a small hole in the drivers floor, like $.50 peice sized. frame is included and some wiring in the dash which i probly wont need. i went and looked at it today and forgot my camera. it is a little sun beaten and has some small dents but in amazing shape. i can pick it up for $1000. good buy or not?

im thinking yes and then ill start a nice thread on a fully line-x'ed body and body swap.

a small deposit and he'll hold it til spring when i have the rest of the cash.

well, compare it to how much replacement body parts would be to what this body is worth, but if everything is as good as you say, I'd pick it up

I'm sure you could pick up a toyota for around that price.

Go get it, bring it home, take pictures, and let it rip.

IDK, I'd be leary of his assessment of the body. Anytime I've relied on someone else's "it's tits man!! no rust at all, cept a tiny little bitty spot!" I've been screwed. Might work out, but you never know, big gamble, but sometimes those are fun too!

if it has the drivetrain and runs sounds decent. i picked up a solid k30 body/frame from down south for 350. also the last k5 i bought was solid but no drivetrain and paid 800 and everyone thought i got a great deal. simply cause everything is a rotted turd around here

1000......only if it runs. Those things are a dime a dozen.
