I know its anti-christ and ill burn in hell for 1000 years. but has anyone put a cruiser front end on a scrambler tub? Im thinking of selling my buggy and i wanted to build an alluminium body cruiser. But i like the wheelbase and length of a scrambler. whats the longest wheelbase that would look good on an fj-40 do you guys think? the most i had was 106" i think.

im just bouncing ideas around

Check out Aqualu options: http://www.aqualu.com/aqualu_land_cruiser_and_jeep_bodies_002.htm

They offer 10", 18" & 27" stretched 40 tubs.

Could always do a Troopy and keep it all Yota. They're not the cheapest starting base, though.

I would really like to see pictures of the frame stretch on this rig along with any other fj40's that have had the frame stretched. I would also like to see a list of material used along with any thing that they would have done differently for this conversion, along with the final wheel base.

you know how it goes. You get the bug to build something after a few years. I love my rig but some things I would like to change. So i was thinking of selling it whole and starting fresh. Instead of cutting alot of things and rebuilding/tubework. But I havent made a solid decision yet.

Check my "Intervention" thread. I am in process right now. 16" stretch ~112" WB.

I dig cj8's! but they are around 57" at the dash and a 40 is a little over 53? (even though a 40 tub is wider) your gonna have some sheet metal work right there. scrambler owners are proud of their oddballs and not about to give it away. I think it would not be much more work and allot cheaper to stretch a 40. pick up a junk tub and go at it!
