Walker valley ORV area is going to be closed for the fall and winter. They are locking out all bikes, wheelers, because of the muddy parking lot draining into the creek. My brother was at the meeting and no 4 wheelers showed. Where are you guys???? Get with it, or it will be closed for good.

umm, there were only 2 representatives of the 4 wheeling community at the last public meeting. Thats pretty poor turnout.

One of the main reasons that the Walker Valley ORV area is being closed is due to the astronmical amount of water runoff that is causing a ton of erosion. The other main reason, is they are logging all the way up the north creek trail on the west side of it. The forester is tired of equipment being vandalized and stolen. So, a happy medium was to close the park down for 4 months. This is nothing new. They have been talking about doing temporary closures for years. Walker Valley is not going to be shut down. If that were the case, then how come they have given so many thousands of dollars to work on the trails this year alone? We were out of town for this last meeting, but that does not excuse the fact that there isn't much support from the 4 wheelin community at these meetings. However, just because you don't see us at the meetings, does not mean that we aren't involed, or that we don't know what is going on. I am glad to see other people worked up about what is going on up here. I don't know if people have the same problems as this area, but here the motorcylce crowd and the wheelin crowd don't always seem to get along. I'm hoping that this is something that we can all work towards changing, because it is going to take unity in numbers to help keep the area open in the future.
