We all know what BFG does for this program.
Over the years we have had 3 trails in California picked.
Rubicon, Fordyce and Superstition or Black Cat.

I am finishing up the list for nominations for 2010 that I will send off to BFG by weeks end.

I have a pretty good selection of California trails on the list, and others along the west coast area.
I am looking for some trails from back east to add to the list.
If anyone knows of some good trails along the Eastern seaboard, it would be great.

I think a few more in the midwest would be good too.
I would like to have well over 40 trails from across the country for BFG to pick from.

Post them up here with the following info:
Trail Name:
Club or org that maintains the trail.
Contact person name with phone and email ( this can be emailed to landuse at ufwda.org)

Why the trail should be nominated.

Anything else that is special about the trail and club/org that maintains it.

Do you want good fun trails or just straight up nasty break parts and get stuck trails.

Out of the Tillamook State Forest I would pick:

1) Crushers - Adopted by Raven's Offroad

2) Can Opener - The Woods (supported by Sore4x4.com)

3) Waterfall - ???

4) Hog's Back - ???

Jahmaal Rebb aith the Oregon Department of Forestry (Jahmaal.Rebb@state.or.us) can give you all the contact information you would need. He heads up the ORV department of TSF.

7-Up at TSF is a very difficult short trail - Adopted by Poorboy off road

Airplane hill is now opened but I don't know who adopted it. Very challenging bonus line from what I hear.

kinda hard to call #2 and #3 trails, seeing how they are more like, one obstacle.

7-up is more like just one obstacle too. Still a pretty good hill climb though.

Tsf needs to add some actual "Trails"

Firebreak 5 and Crushers is about it isnt it? Ive only been there once in the last 5 years, but nothing seemed to be very different.

I wouldn't really think of Waterfall and Can Opener as one obstacle. They are tangents or parts of the whole Archer's Firebreak. I would think Archer's would be a great candidate for this, but since it is so long and so many sections, more than one group has adopted it.

We are hoping to take on Saddle Up here in the next year, possible redoing the whole trail and extending it (due to logging).

Archers would be the trail. it includes the areas; can opener, rock garden, waterfall, rocky uphill, and more! almost 5 miles of trail.

and if you havnt been there in 5 years, WTF! you should be helping oregon get more trails! not talking crap.

just saying, we need all the help we can get in oregon. tsf may not be the best set of trails, but there arent really many other places to go here this side of Hood!

7-up definetly isn't a trail you go to for a day of wheeling. you can run the 2 easier section in minutes. The rock face is an excellent challenge but only handfulls of people make it with no winch so few people see the rest of that trail section. That section would be great with about 4 or 5 more nasty obsticles since the rock face already acts like a filter. Its just so difficult to get equipment in that far to make manmade obsticles.

As of now its a great spot to hit while going between other trails.:)

whos talking crap?

I love browns camp, its only about 30 minutes from my driveway to the turn off of highway 8. Just hate all the gravel you have to drive on to get to the obstacles.

Ive always wanted to to a trail that takes the better part of a day to complete. Id help in anyway i can to make this happen.

I am about the same amount of distance you are (Orenco Station), and don't look forward to the 10 minutes of gravel it takes to get to the first trail. As for a full day of wheeling, I would leave that up to your map skills. I usually run first timmers through most of the trails in a day. I start off with Cedar Tree, heading over to all of Firebreak 5, take both sections of Hog's back, get out and look at 7-up, go down Saddle-up, and finish the rest of the day through all of Archer's firebreak. Without any major complications, a group of 4-6 rigs can spend a good 8 hours wheeling.

Now that Airplane Hill opened up at the beginning of this last summer, I hope to incorporate that into the existing route or design a new one with powerline, little Rubicon, and bate's road.

We don't have the original Rubicon, but with a little creativity, you can definitely make the best of what we do have.

When i went up there last Dec, after a 5 year hiatus, I can honestly say, that the trails sure changed, Can opener used to be pretty much a point and shoot kind of thing, now it takes a little driving. The left side of airplane hill is pretty weak compared to what it used to be, (albeit it was never really that hard). The right side of airplane looked pretty good, i didnt try it though, watched the other rigs take it.

And i like how you can go in from the bottom of crushers and come out on top, instead of going in and coming out the same way. Didnt do crushers either, (doubler is going in, in the next couple weeks, then i will :flipoff2:)

I have to say, my rig was not built to take on Crushers, so I have only seen it via Youtube.

It is kind of nice to see it evolve, and to see new hopefuls sprout up. It just takes the masses to be involved.
