heard that they were not holding the CC 2003, due to the amount of work it takes to put on an event that big. They were supposed to hold 2004, but I think they were going to let someone else take 2003 if they wanted to spend the time and effort. Who knows things change fast.

I would be VERY surprised if they didn't do 03'....Yea I heard the bitching during 02', but they bitch every year! (right Rich!?).

Las Cruses has been holding the CC (winter quarterly) for as long as I've been wheeling....Farmington usually always takes the spring quarterly, and summer is usually up in the air (CO)...Fall is usually in the flat-lands somewhere (OK, KA, TX etc)...

I'm not saying things don't change, but the winter quarterly in Cruses is a foundation of SWFWDA.

I guess you heard some of the same stuff I did Doug. I hope they get over it and hold the event anyways. I think they said something like it takes all year to get it organized, and they just dont want to deal with it on this scale. But Doug you know those New Mexicans, they are all to lazy to do anything but Bitch.

But seriously, maybe someone needs to find out what there problems are, and maybe pawn some of the work off on other clubs or something. Or maybe they just need more money to pay organizers, and insurance.

Historically they have the event on the 3rd weekend of February. That is what I have taken off for vacation in preparation for the event (the week before that weekend). Last 3 CC's were - Feb 20-23, 21-24, and 23-26th.

I heard the same stuff about the event for 03, that the Las Cruces 4 wheeldrive club may not host the event, and it would be up to another club to host it. What say you Rich, and insider info?

Anyway, doesn't make a sheit anyway. Lets all meet there for our own CC '03 on that same week-weekend for a Rover event. Plenty of participants in the past for the extreme stuff. I bet we would have 10 plus vehicles easy. And if Rich or one of the LC4x4ers would lead (like Lance) we would be good to go. Rich, I will buy you and Sheila dinner every night you lead, and same goes for Lance and company.

What do you guys think!!

ps. I also have the 2nd week in November off this year. Anyone up for the Hammers, or Rubicon (although, not sure if it is still snow free during that time). Maybe something out in the Vegas area?

I'm sure the Alb. club would step up to the plate...I'm very possitive that Jim Werkmister would never let the CC go down...I dunno' how long that run has been going, but I'm sure it's (at least!) on it's 9th or 10th year.

The first one I went to was in 96'...That's when it was at the little state park on the north side of Cruses (Leasburg park?)...Anyway it was WAY small compared to the past couple of years...And very casuall as well.

We should all meet there anyway...Who needs' all the people?

Now if I can get away....It just occured to me that #2 will be on the ground (God willing) in mid-Jan....Sure! That's a good 4+ weeks of recovery (yea right)....Anyway, I'm sure she'll want me OUT of the house that week anyway...Rather than live with me IN the house that week! :)

Did someone say Vega$$$$$???

Just got home, and catching up on e-mail and 'stuff'.

Tell me when and where, I'm in. If we do the Hammers, I can get 3 guys from Paso Robles easy.

If you want me to find out some hard core stuff here I can start looking.

Cool!
