Ok guys! This is my way of breaking this run on down! We now have an official title, as I hope to make this an annual run! The ideas have been flowing from everyone! T-shirts are going to be made, and they are pretty bad ass!

Right now, we are looking to have 8-10 rigs with us, running 3/4 ton to 1 ton setups with 38's to 42's!

I got some work done on the shirt design today. I'm not changing much, but i'll give a few different variations and we'll all debate it. My only suggestion would be to think about different color shirts, I like black but I never wear them wheeling because they get so hot. But I'll make anything you guys want.

I'll post up some pics tommorow!

I just booked us a cottage/house in town for the weekend......call me bro for the info.

Here is the schedule I am making off the top of my head:

Thursday, March, 25th: Arrive, possible night run @ Green Acres

Friday, March 26th: Mr. Frielings in Yanush/Buffalo Valley Meet @ 9:00 am on the middle pump deck and go from there; "Toast the Hill" night run @ Green Acres! :grinpimp: This is an old tradition from the Frontier Four Wheelers of Oklahoma City, for those who know and for those who want to know!

Saturday, March 27th: Meet @ Green Acres staging area below the entrance between 9:00 am and 10:00 am, if that amount of room allows! If not, then
we'll figure it out! We could possibly then take the group to either KT's Climb or Blacksheep Blvd. for some photo/video opportunities. Or we could do a huge group trail run through Wet-n-Wild to Jeff's Ledges to Green Mamba. Or we could just all go our seperate ways and have a great day of wheeling!

This "schedule" is just an idea! We don't have to stick to anything!

Black shirts look good but are hotter than hell in the summer...
So i would say black and then just throw in some other colors that would look good without getting too complicated on having to change the lettering or logos too much...

neon green/black/white on medium gray? (similar to our most recent Rocktober shirts)... I really like the hi-vis green idea, but one "trail fix" and it's ruined... just a thought...

I only mentioned the high vis idea because the shirt would stand out at other runs and people would be inquisitive about it and want to know more!

You guys are right about the black shirt though! Way to hott!

Thanks Heath! I have always wanted to set up a run to southeastern Oklahoma where a bunch of friends can always meet up and socialize! We are all friends on here that drool over each other's build ups and trail rides, but I thought it was time to just meet up at one time!

I have been wheeling since I was 2 years old, its hard to believe that I've been locking hubs in for almost 28 years!

Enough of my history, back to this weekend!

What does everyone think of my tentative schedule? Does everyone want to abide by it or just go their own way?

Do you think contact to a magazine would be out of order or jumping the gun? I really enjoy Crawl, but what other mags are good out there?

I have reserved the house behind the Napa in Clayton for the weekend. We are booked from Thursday to Sunday. We will be pulling out of Sooner Rd. and I-240 in OKC sometime on Thursday, mid morning to mid afternoon, if somebody wants to run down there with us.

This is really coming together quite awesome! I can't wait for SRSGSXR1000 to put up the shirt designs!

All we can hope for is this same weather like we've had this month. Its still 2 months away, but I am getting amped and the lack of trail running since Thanksgiving is really killing me!

By the way, my name is Shain! If referring to me as "linked" is odd to any of you!

Feel free to PM me with any questions and/or suggestions, or just post them on here!

P.S. for some reason when I uploaded these to photobucket the colors got jacked. Just know that the yellow looking color is flourescent green.

srsgsxr1000
01-20-2010, 07:32 PM
So are we ordering now or are we just getting them in clayton.

Well, here's what I was thinking:

First, we need to decide on the color. I can do dark gray, light gray, pink, basically any color but black. Or I can do black. The artwork, and setup completly changes between black and lighter colors. If I were charging more or doing a couple hundred shirts it would not be a prob. But I figure I'll be doing less than a hundred, and I'm trying to keep the cost low on the shirts.

Second, Everyone can kinda chime in and let me know how many and what size they want, and I'll make the shirts based off of that and sell them at the event kinda fist come first serve. Or anyone who wants to "pre order" can send a check or money order to me in advance, and they will have shirts waiting on them when we meet up at clayton. and anyone wanting to pay a little shipping can have shirts sent to them before the event.

Those are just some thoughts, I just want to help out here and make everyone happy.

Chime in with any thoughts or suggestions.

We'll all camp down by the lake...in a white van! :flipoff2:

Gasper's Goo. That bitch is mean. got scared looking at it. The bulldog should be reopened by then. It has changed hands and they are getting it back up to speed. The food is supposed to be alot better and cheaper. According to the locals, the original owners have re-bought it and are gonna clean it up good. The food at the grocery story cafe is decent. The bbq place sucks ass, especially for breakfast.

Unless the masses say otherwise, I'm thinking:

Charcoal "dark gray" for the guys wanting a darker shirt.

Light steel "light gray" for the guys wanting a lighter shirt.

And Flourescent pink for the ladies who don't want gray, (and for the guys who are man enough to wear them)

P.S. For the ladies out there, would you prefer womens T's, or men's T's?

And yes guys, there is a difference.

Agreed, no more TShirt talk. Dark Grey, Light Gray and Womens Pink T's is the way to go. Black is additional Setup costs and that's unnecessary.

Trails are brand new and just need driven to break em in good. The dude who knows the place better than anyone is Joe Eaves. He own's Toy Soldiers customs in Atoka, OK. His fabwork rivals anyone on Pirate. He's from Cali but just getting started here in Oklahoma. PM me if you're interested in heading up even before spring break. Awesome! Well I'll just plan on being there around noon on that Thursday. I have rented a place there in town. There is a group from Ar. that I met last year at Rocktoberfest, all running 42" + tires that I might meet up with and run Green Acres that afternoon! Ya we should really hook up and run something, I don't want to get down there to just sit around all day!

Is there a schedule for this trip yet? show up friday, wheel saturday or whats the plan? im pretty new to this game but my little gmc on 31's probably wont be able to get very far, i may be able to get some beefier tires on it with some cutting and dif work by spring break and i was wondering if there were any lines that a fullsize 4x4 could do while still pretty stock? I just stumbled on this thread and ive been looking for people to wheel with, everyone down here in southeast Tx plays in the mud and i would rather trail ride. My parents live in fort smith, Ar and i know the clayton area, if i could ride with someone with a spare seat or even wheel part of the place in my truck i would go up there and camp the weekend??

Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Phew! Most of the trails we are talking about would be pretty rough on a fullsize on 31's. My group will have about 4 or 5 buggy's, someone might have a spare seat you could hitch a ride. Mike might, no one will ride with him. we don't call him flip or flop for nothing!

Are you with the group that has the custom tube buggy's from Hot Springs? Were you guys in Clayton for the weekend after Thanksgiving?

What trails were you guys thinking of running?

Do you want to pre-order and pre-pay shirts or have us give you an idea of how many and what sizes and pay you there?

As far as shirts go, I'll print shirts in the next week or 2. Then I will let you guys know. Anyone who wants them early can send the money and i'll ship them. I am probably gonna charge $12 per shirt, or do 3 for $30 and i'll get a flat rate shipping price.

I'll get all the details figured out and get back with you guys.

Got to see Brad's IROK stickies last weekend, and he's right, there is no comparison, no matter what brand. Those things are like play-dough! He hardly spun a tire and that was on a cold day with high humidity. If you know Disney, you know that is when the traction is the very worst.

Nearly everything on the buggy is brand new. It was designed around a chevy 4.3 v6. Has been ran 1 time at harlan and the guy is building a new house so that is why he sold it....

Well our group is getting closer! Chromo axles have been installed in a front 44, Pit Bull's are possibly being purchased, full hydro parts are ordered to finish the setup, a cage is designed (waiting on tubing), and a Jeep is being sprayed red with bedliner as this post is being read!

MEANWHILE, I can't find time to do maintenance on mine! DAMMIT JIM! But all I need is a weekend! Need to change oil, upgrade my rock lights and headlights, possibly wire in some tail lights, and put air in 3 tires!

Well I was kind of hoping that I could try and make it to this, but with all o fthe recent events… It looks like I’ll be lucky if I get to go wheeling any time soon at all…
I do get to go to Vegas a couple of weekends before that… But that isn’t what is keeping me from going…
I just found out that I have to Move therefore I have to start figuring out how I’m going to get all my crap out of the shop, including the Cj on jack stands… and how to get My non driving Pig of a jeep moved also…. Oh and finally I hafta try and find a new place to live before I’m stuck with that damn fridge box for a shop…
Which also unfortunately means that all the $$ will be heading towards down money and closing money and ect ect… so that means that I don’t get crap for the Jeep, or the money to take it traveling with me either… But hell maybe I can get lucky and get a shop and some land and go wheeling in my yard lol
Take lots of good pictures for me to look at,:flipoff2: the wheeling I did last Time I got out didn't quite hold me over (But dammit I followed that Jeep almost Everywhere on the little Mini Yamaha 80 dirtbike) but a couple  kept me from looking stupid :D

About a 1/4" difference between the two, same wheels, same buggy, same weight. We just pulled a new set of 42" Irocks off Richards buggy, and mounted up 39" Krawlers. The 42" Iroks were about 1/4" taller.
