Well here is the deal. I got a gas tank for my 95 samurai put it in and it was leaking out of the bottom of the filler hose. So I ripp it all apart and the little dick that comes out of the gas tank is cracked around the bottom!!!!!! So no I can't get a new tank and i need my truck for the weekend!!!!
Any suggestions on fixing it???????

Rub a bar of soap on the crack. The soap will react with the gas and harden. It should seal the crack pretty well if it's no too big. I'd take the bar with you just in case you need to re-apply :D

while common bar soap does work, and quite well at that, i would only use it for an emergency-to get BACK from the trail.
if you want just a temporary fix, i would suggest jb weld. (AND take soap with you....)
JB-Weld all around the crack.
My bubby patched a tank from pick-n-pull with three holes gouged in the bottom the tank still holds up fine

I'll have to agree w/ the JB weld. While both half-ass'd, and completely 'rigged.....it holds real well.
after the first time I ran my '79 bronco through the 'con, I had a pretty good leak from the gas tank.
Pulled it out, found a nice little puncture wound in the bottom of the tank (little sharp pebble size rock got between skid plate and tank, then truck landed on skid plate, little sharp pebble made like an ice pick). cleaned it up real well, and smeared the shiat out of it w/ jb weld.....that was like 4-5 years ago.....never looked back.
but bar of soap works well in a pinch (w/o pulling/draining tank etc...)

Bar of soap?? never heard of that befor!! (writing down in trail side book fix). I will try the JB Weld.
I was speaking with a local Michanic he told me to sotter it with solid core sotter with flux. Question can this be done with some gas in the tank or am I risking an :nuke: :nuke:

Just to let you all know (if you even care) I pached up the tank. I have a friend that builds air plains for a living and he got me some of theis Goo???? I don't remeber what it was but it did the trick. I will find out what it is called and post it.
Now I have to figure out if I want to do the keg gas tank or not????:flipoff2:

I recently lifted my gas tank 4" and poked a hole or two in mine, 5 minutes with JB weld and voila no leak, this stuff is god.
JB Weld, or Leak ender 2000
:flipoff2:
Ever wondered how leak ender 2000 keeps from sealing up the nozzle on the spray can???
