I'm fabbing my own motor mounts to put a sbc in my YJ. All I have is the old mounts to go by and not the block. So I need to know....... at what angle do the 3 hole plates that bolt to the block sit at....I have these fabbed and and need to miter some tube to weld to it but I need to know what angle to cut the tube at so when welded to the plates they will sit level on the shassis mounts.
Thanks
Jon

Put it in place with a crane and measure. Use wood as a template and then cut the metal. Don't forget to shift the engine about 1" to the opposite side of the front driveshaft for clearence. An even better idea would be for the drivetrain to be entirely in place so you can see your drive line anges and if you hace clearence issues.

He said he didn't have the block yet.
Anyway, GM V-8's are 90 degree motors, so one could assume the the motor mounts are at a 45 degree angle, but I would double check on an engine block before I'd start fabbing.

I'll go measure mine tonight and try to post what they are at. I have a 4.3L, but the mounts are the same.

Angles of the mount where it meets the engine block 45 degrees.
My MORE mounts measure 7" on the driver's side, and 6" on the passenger side. They come off the frame rails at approximately 25 degree angle up.
Hope this helps
