I saw two or three of them when I was down at Tellico this Summer.

They were all on hybrids, so the write-up on how to do it is probably:

1) buy cheapest keg of beer possible
2) drink entire keg in one setting by yourself
3) use hunting rifle to make two holes in side of keg for fuel lines (if you're lucky, you'll only need one shot)
4) use gas axe to make a fuel filler hole
5) plumb in gas lines and you're ready to go!

(..sorry, it's friday afternoon at work and I'm a little punchy..)

to be more useful, here are some searches..

a friend of mine used to have one, all you need to do is go to your local college frat house and buy an empty for the 10 dollar core charge. put a roll over vent in the top. pull out the stainless steel ball in the top, there is already a tube runningto the bottom of the tank.

and yes there was a thread about this about a month ago

I could easily be wrong since Ive never tried, but I would think you couldent get that ball out without cutting up the keg. Cause If you cut out the surrounding area lets call that the "stem" wouldent that tube come out with it

The ball is part of a valve and has a big spring behind it. To remove the whole valve is easy. The most common method of valve retainer is a split ring. The split ring is easily removed with two small screw drivers. Put one it the grove(red arrow) near the end on the ring ( yellow arrow) make dam sure there is NO pressure in the keg or you will get a stainless steel valve in your face!

The brewery's just love this since they pay 100.00 for a keg and you steal them for 10.00:flipoff: :flipoff: Higher beer prices for everybody.

Go to your local brewery and they will give you a damaged keg for free!

there we go...I knew you would chime in OLDSCOUT. You gave me all kinds of shit when I made that BBQ.:flipoff2: But I really do understand what your saying even though I don't fully agree. Now, was it you that said somthing about a recycling place where you could buy used kegs? Say it again please.

Eh, the easiest way is too help empy the keg, then throw it off of a 3 story balcony onto a parking lot.

It will pop right out. :D

Save kegs for BEER!!!!

And beside it just looks so damn hick!! The one I am used to seeing is in the back of a mid '70 2 wheel drive chevy pickup painted bright yellow with ground effects and more marker lights than a semi trailer.... UGLY. You don't want to be like that guy do you??

This is kinda off topic. . .

At a local supermarket, they had one of those shits and giggles displays. it was a 10ft tall shopping cart, complete with blown 454, th400 and a 10 bolt rear (yeah, like they ever drove it) i wish i woulda got pictures of it. It had a fuel keg.

it also had mustang II front suspension, and all the driver's controls routed up to the "kiddie seat" of the shopping cart.

I thought it was the gayest thing i've ever seen. It should have had wheelie bars, because if someone actually laid on the throttle, that thing would have just flopped over on the back, and probably would have smacked the driver's head on the ground.

But, the polished fuel keg was a nice touch.
