: New Guy on the block!
B.C. 05 10-04-2002, 11:52 AM Well I'm a newbie here, but definitely not a newbie to the great world of Four wheel drives.
Been around them since I was 18 almost half my life--always looking to improve my truck and modify it. I've always bought, built and then sold several 4x4's in the past -- but I really like by current truck.
It is a 1989 K5 Blazer with D60 up front -14FF out back-- and currently running 33" M/t Claws. Wanting to go bigger either 39" boggers or 42" Tsl's with small lift and fender trimming.
Anyway glad to have foud this site to broaded my knowledge.
Eric.:D :D :D

charlo 10-04-2002, 07:36 PM Texas! aint nothing come outta texas but steers and...... Just kidding. Welcome to the site. Sounds like you got a nice rig. What drive train are you running? Blown up your 241 yet?
B.C. 05 10-05-2002, 11:15 AM Well first Charlo :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: just kidding also--I have D60 upfront/14FF rear/4.56 gears with a Gov-loc in the 14.
Haven't wheeled it hard enough yet to blow up the 241--waiting till I get some 39.5 boggers to do it right!
Plan on going with either a Atlas or ORD Doubler--haven't decided yet--any advice!!:cool2: :cool2: :cool2:
Eric.
charlo 10-06-2002, 02:15 PM I have an 85 blazer with D60 C14FF and a detroit rear w/4.56s and 35x15.5x15s. I am still trying to figure out what I am gonna run once my 383 is together cause the 700r4/208 prolly wont last. If I can get it to fit I can get a good deal on a 400/205. I dont do much rocks but an atlas or a doubler would be nice.
Charlo
B.C. 05 10-06-2002, 02:34 PM Hey Charlo,
Sounds like a Kick Ass K5--I'm also thinking of going with a 400, just talked with Art Carr about a reverse manual valve body with one of their shifters and torque converter said they could let one go for around 2 grand--think I will wait and get the 39" boggers on and blow my set up I got on now--see how long it takes to do that first:D :D :D .
Eric.
jonscj7 10-06-2002, 09:57 PM Welcome Eric,
sounds like a cool K5
i have a couple of questions if you don't mind:
Does your K5 still have the factory tank for the EFI, If so How many gallons does it hold, what side is the fill on and If at all possible would you to measure the diminsions and PM or post them here because I am building a 67:D K3.5 blazer and installing a vortec and was wondering if I could fit the factory TBI blazer tank into it but since I built the frame I only have about 27to28" wide to mount it and I can't find a new enough blazer around here to measure off of.
Thanks in advance,
Jon
4x4realm 10-06-2002, 11:19 PM My tank is 25-30 gallons. not sure on the size
Ten_Bucks 10-07-2002, 12:31 PM Silver,
Welcome to the board! I think its cool to see other K5 owners on this board. I used to have an '83 K5. I'm planning on getting another one to replace it because I still have the parts that I was going to put on my old one still sitting in storage. Also, just to let you people know, the K5s came with either a 26 gallon or 31 gallon fuel tank. Again, welcome to the board!
sunshineoffroad 10-07-2002, 12:35 PM I feel so left out with my K20.:( I got a 20 gallon tank on one side....and one on the other side too. Damn thing sure likes to drink them too. Oh well, I figure not too long and I will get broad sided and explode anyway!:D :D Welcome aboard!
B.C. 05 10-07-2002, 02:29 PM Hey jonscj7,
My tank is 26" wide and 30" long this acutally the measurment of the skid plate for the tank so you should be well within the 27-28" you have to work with. The fill neck is on the passenger side and my tank is the 31 gallon capacity.
And thanks for all the great welcomes guys.
Eric:D :D
jonscj7 10-07-2002, 07:48 PM Thanks 89 Blazer, ten bucks and silver89K5, I remeasured and about 26" so I am just going to buy a fuel cell.
Thanks again,
Jon
Dan shsss 10-07-2002, 11:30 PM Welcome,, From one newbie to another,, At least you have some good axles already.
B.C. 05 10-08-2002, 05:20 AM Yeah I'm gathering up parts to lift it more and run some 39" boggers on hummer beadlocks--should have everything together and installed by spring--at least that is my goal anyway.
