Anyone got one or shot one? Looked at one today and for the money, looks like a good knock around rifle. Looks A LOT like a Savage. If they are as accurate as a Savage, I want one.

The Marlin xs7 is as good as any Savage, its stock is stiffer, the trigger 100% better & adjustable, the bolt is much more smoother, this is compared to the Savage M200 also, not the higer lines.
The bbl is just like the Savage in that meaning you can swap it out to another caliber per Savage line.

I bought a youth model for my girlfriend. Marlin had the shortest stock. The bolt is tight but butter smooth. Definatly a well built rifle. Hers is a 7-08 and will flat out shoot. Fusion ammo gets me 1" at 100yrds. I would definatly recommend it.

If I needed a quick replacement, child's learning gun, gf wanted a rifle of her own, etc. I'd buy one hands down. I've read several articles from different publications and all reviews have been very positive. The sub-$400 price tag is the biggest plus in my mind

Ive got the early XL7 version in 30-06 and it is a great rifle. It is more accurate than I am and it is easy to get 1" groups out of it at 100 yards when using good ammo. I got mine for 280 out the door and for that price I couldn't find anything close.
