I'm putting a set of 3/4 ton chevys under my Scout II(soon I hope!). Got all the parts collected and just picked up a nice set of 35x15.5 Swamper SX's. I don't want them to stick out much more than a full width so I need more backspacing on the wheels.Any clue as to what backspacing on the wheels should I get to bring em in a little?? Also the wheels have to clear Avalanche hi steer arms. Anybody have any ideas as to how much back spacing I should get,2 or 3 more inches sound about right?TIA

From what I have seen on a 15x10 2.5-3" is common with some grinding. I am sure you can get away with more but you will have to grinder crazy on the calipers and backing plates. The biggest concern is the front. The rear will be a serious PITA too because of the bigass drums on that dude. You might want to think about a disk conversion on the back (search chevy) and there is tons of info recently on that... Also might want to check in on making your own backing plate I have seen it done where the rotor is turned down in dia. and the caliper is closer to the hub. You will probably get better answers in the chevy forum too.

BTW I just sent you an e-mail <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I don't know the backspacing on these wheels, but I could probably find out. I also have pics of these on a FS Bronco (my buddy runs 'em in the obstacle races, I traded him my 31s for his 35s to run drags last Saturday)

That's a Chevy 1/2T front with F150 rotors - roughly splits the difference between the Chevy 1/2T and Chevy 3/4T front ends.

Rear is a T'all D44.. tires are 35x12.50s from Walmart. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Those dudes should be big enough to run nearly dually b/s front and rear!
