It's a bolt on if you buy a conversion kit, otherwise you'll have to build/move hangers around as the springs are longer. As far as finding springs, Junkyard, classifieds etc... will get you what you need.

Buddy of mine just cut his out of plate with a grinder. Find someone that has it done and make templates. You cant really tell its a homebrew job, looks like the fancy shit.

You don't even need a set to copy, just a tape measure and some cardboard to use as a template.

Your right. Most ppl that have seen it done, and have some experience with it will have no problems. But... This guy doesn't sound like he's seen it done.

Just do some window shopping on the internet. Look at the kits that are available and duplicate the basic idea. All you need to know is where you want your axles and how to read a tape measure.

goin with crash on this. its really not rocket surgery. Brackets, hangers, shackles, plates, longer brake lines and longer shocks with new mounts for them because of the amount of extra flex. then some different stering arms to clear the springs, and poof your done. You know what springs look like on other rigs. its all the same. just measure it twice before you weld it all together cause grinding sucks.
good luck.

is an ruf up front an yj springs in the back a bad idea? its definitley cheaper

GreyZuk

thats a fine setup if its what ya got. Even RUF is going to need some sort of missing link or relocated spring perches. Sammis are the cheap option, cause we run whatever crap we can find and make it work.

yeah i want to run a missing link front end and the ruf missing link is only $130
versus the yj missing link being $299

keep in mind, you may need to add some spare leafs to the RUF pack since it will be supporting a lot more weight.
