Has anyone done that swap before? Swap a 3.4 into a truck that came with a 3rz? I just searched and obviously came back with a shit ton 3.4 swaps into pre-tacamas. Just wondering if anyone has done this swap, or know of any documented swaps for me to read through.

I believe it's much simpler to just go buy one that already has the 5vze.

My '96 had a 3.4 swapped in by my brother. there isn't any pictures of it, but i know all he had to do was modify the driver side motor mount (it was at too steep of an angle, so he cut and rewelded it with plates on the inside.) as far as wiring, i believe he just repinned the plug on the engine side. he said it was really easy.

the motor came out of a '98 by the way, and he used the trans and gas tank from the donor truck.

I'm just guessing but it would seem to me like the 3rz should swap in pretty straightforward if you can get the ECU and all sensors hooked up okay then you shouldn't really have a problem. Mechanically it should be pretty simple. I don't know if there are bellhousing variations but the W series transmission (I'm gonna guess that's what the truck has or you are using?) should bolt to the 3rz bellhousing, or the stock 22r bellhousing might work with the 3rz I'm not sure but a bellhousing shouldn't be too hard to find. Engine mounts should be fairly similar as well. All this is imaginative speculation from a guy that owns both a pretaco and a taco one with a 22r and the other with a 2rz. I'm sure someone else will have some better info
