I've been told by a very unreliable source that a twin stick from an 18 will fit on a 20? I can pick up the nose cone, shift rails and sticks cheap. Sounds iffy to me. Do they fit?
Oh, and I did search. Plus, I even went to the BB FAQ. It says you can use the sticks, which I already figgered I could. But will the nose cone interchange?
Wow, 37 seconds and already 4 views. Must be slow today!

Yup it'll work. Two methods you can choose (I've done both) for the shift rails, call border parts and order two rails from an early 20 (it'll have the one notch per rail instead on the slot and hole for the single stick linkage. Or do like I did weld in some 3/16" stock, then grind the slot for the shifters. I did one for Josh C like this, ask him to post pics.
Heck I even used twin sticks from and early 20 to convert my 300 to twin stick, same method welded up the rails then ground the slot.

Uh,
My options were limited, as the tranny combo and adapter made me opt for a Jeep CJ Dana20 front plate. The hump on my SM420 would've been a problem for me if I had used the 18 front.
You might just as well leave the 18 stuff alone. Take your 20 front apart, remove the interlock and make your own shift forks and levers.
I don't know how someone would use a 18 front, as you don't have three sliders, and there will be binding if you force the rails into the 18 front half. Dunno, there may be some black magik that makes the 18 front work with the 20 case.
That 18 front half is worth some coin, you might want to see if someone will trade you a 20 twin stick setup for what you have.
If you really just want to bolt stuff on and get going, get in contact with Jack O'brien (search on the pbb for his #) He may have what you want. He makes the JP-eaters for Toyotas, and deep (but spendy $$$) gearsets for the Dana 18/20's.
Cheers,
