I just got Solid Edge v.11 for my Mechanical Engineering class. Is anybody using this for suspension designs and such? I would love to throw a couple suspension ideas I have in and simulate forces on them and such.
I would love some tips on using the program for this stuff and copies of any files you have created that I could look at for ideas.

A few of the computer/CAD nerds hang out in Chit Chat. Might try and repost this there. ;)

We're using SE V12... quite cool and easy to get around in, but the whole thing with ALGOR connectivity suxxxx. I have all these badass parts to simulate forces on and all I get are consistent "geometry errors" when they've even been checked over by the guy who teaches the damn ALGOR class :(

I tried doing my stuff in Pro/E but it was a little too complicated for me to get it to produce actual useful infomration. As far as having the blueprints for what you want to produce, it's almost impossible with all the variables and your starting from nothing(building the suspension from scratch).

We had SE reps come give their pitch back during SR project. It seemed alright. I used SolidWorks throughout school, and they seemed very similar. I've moved on to SDRC IDEAS now. Love the linkage synthesis, Generative Machining, Integrated FEA...don't know what I'm gonna do in 2 releases when IDEAS disappears.....
